Dragon Quest IV Part 40: Learn how to get the Yggdrasil Leaf, Staff of Salvation, Yggdrasil Dew, and Zenithian Sword from the World Tree.

  • Reduce your battle lineup to three members.
  • Ensure the Hero is in your lineup and wearing all Sky Equipment pieces for a later section.
Walkthrough
  1. 1
Enter the World Tree (Yggdrasil) in El Forado.
  2. 2
Take the left stairs and head out onto the branch upstairs. Examine the leaves to get a [YGGDRASIL LEAF]. You can acquire more by replacing the character carrying the leaf, returning to the world map, and repeating the process, as long as no leaf is in your battle lineup or bag.
  3. 3
Go northwest from the leaf's location and open the chest to find a [STAFF OF SALVATION].
  4. 4
Return downstairs and head up the stairs in the eastern part of the tree's entrance room.
  5. 5
Move south, then southwest to find another stairway and head up.
  6. 6
Instead of going up the stairway on your left, go south to find a stairway leading upwards from the leaf path. This leads to a chest containing a [YGGDRASIL DEW].
  7. 7
Head back downstairs and go up the stairs on your left.
  8. 8
Move south on the next floor to find a stairway on your east side. Head up.
  9. 9
At the next floor's entrance, an angel named Orifiela is lying on the ground. She asks you to take her to Zenithia and joins your party.
  10. 10
Orifiela explains that the [ZENITHIAN SWORD] is needed to enter Zenithia and is hidden on the current floor of Yggdrasil.
  11. 11
Head southwest from Orifiela's location, follow the path of branches to the southeastern part of the area, and pick up the [ZENITHIAN SWORD] among the leaves.
  12. 12
Cast "Evac" to exit the World Tree.
  13. 13
Zoom to Porthrunnel, save your game, and fly west in your balloon. Land on the small island in the middle of the sea to reach a new map.
  14. 14
Travel east from your starting point on the new map to find the town of Azimuth, the gateway to Zenithia.
  15. 15
Talk to the preachers in Azimuth to learn about Psaro.
  16. 16
Get [MINI MEDAL #38] from the eastmost house in Azimuth.
  17. 17
Find [MINI MEDAL #39] in the prison in the western part of Azimuth.
  18. 18
Save your game in Azimuth. Consider buying [SPIKED ARMOR] for Ragnar at the armor shop.
  19. 19
Travel east from Azimuth to a shrine in the middle of a small desert, known as Baron's Folly.
  20. 20
In Baron's Folly, ignore the armors and lift at the entrance. Head down the stairs to the bottom room and open the chest for a [GODDESS RING].
  21. 21
Equip the [GODDESS RING] on a magic user like Meena.
  22. 22
Head back upstairs and get on the lift, which goes downwards.
  23. 23
When the lift stops, return to where you first saw it and jump into the hole that has appeared.
  24. 24
Hop down south from the lift's roof and go downstairs to find [BARON'S BUGLE].
  25. 25
Use the [BARON'S BUGLE] in battle to summon horses to attack enemies.
  26. 26
Head back to Azimuth and save your game.
  27. 27
Travel south from Azimuth and enter the building that looks like a huge pillar.
