Guide yourself through Dragon Quest VI's Floor 1 of the tower. Learn how to find the Iron Cuirass and defeat the Corpsickle mini-boss.

Alright, you've made it to Floor 1 of this tower. Don't worry, it's pretty straightforward, and there aren't any enemies wandering around here right away. The camera's locked, so you can't look around freely, but you'll notice a couple of holes leading down and a mirrored wall on the north side.

Your first goal is to grab some loot. Head to the left hole. Going down here leads to a small room where you'll find a treasure chest. Open it up to get an [IRON CUIRASS]. Nice!

Now, back on the main part of Floor 1, you might be tempted to think the Mirror Key is involved with all these mirrors, but it's actually not. You'll get a message saying most mirrors are just ordinary, but pay attention: the one on the far left doesn't give you that message. Keep pressing the 'A' button on that specific mirror. Eventually, you'll get a rather unwelcoming message, and it's time for a fight!

Mini-Boss: Corpsickle x3

• Stats / Weaknesses: These guys hit hard with a powerful poison called Envenom, which drains your HP fast. Use Milly's Squelch spell or an Antidotal Herb to cure it, as it lasts more than one turn. They might also try to heal each other, so focus fire if you can. Their grab attack usually misses.
• Strategy: Use Sap to lower their defenses and speed up the battle. Carver's Double-Up is also great here. Crack deals about 25 damage to a single target. Dazzle can make them hallucinate, which is super helpful, and Snooze will often put at least one of them to sleep.

After you defeat them, you'll earn 840 experience points each and 171 Gold Coins.

The mirror you just fought will vanish, revealing stairs leading to the back part of the floor. It's basically a long corridor. Head all the way to the right down this corridor, and you'll find another treasure chest. This one contains [200 GOLD COINS]. Grab that, and then head up the stairs in the middle section to continue onward.
