Conquer the Paladin's God-in-Training Rank challenges in Fantasy Life! Learn strategies for defeating tough monsters and the Ancient Dragon boss.

Alright, let's talk about reaching the God-in-Training Rank as a Paladin in Fantasy Life. It sounds super intimidating, but honestly, it's not as bad as it seems, especially if you've made it this far. Most of the challenges involve taking down monsters you've probably already encountered, though they are a bit tougher here. The real test comes with the final boss.

Challenges

Here's a breakdown of the challenges you'll face:

Tips

Honestly, the path to becoming a Paladin god isn't too rough. For the most part, you'll be taking on common monsters scattered across Origin Island. While they're a bit stronger than what you fought in Reveria, your experience should have you covered.

The real heat starts when you reach the boss at the end. To find the Ancient Dragon, just head north-east from the central plaza of the Forest Shrine. It looks like a typical Napdragon at first glance, but since it's a DLC-exclusive boss, it's packed with a few extra surprises.

When the Dragon is facing you, that's generally bad news. If it's distracted by allies, that's your cue to move in. For starters, its jaw-chomp attack can inflict Stun. This is a really annoying ailment that'll leave you frozen every few seconds, making it impossible to use items. If you can, try to equip armor with Stun resistance or immunity, or bring along an ally like Yuelia who can cure status effects.

Also, unlike other Napdragons, the Ancient Dragon's head is pretty solid, making it harder to get around. To make matters worse, the arena is quite small, and this dragon moves and attacks way faster than the others. On top of its dragon breath, which now covers a wider, fan-shaped area, the Ancient Dragon will sometimes float up and then slam down, creating a cross-shaped shockwave.

Finally, once its HP drops below half, it'll roar into the sky and then charge forward, surrounded by dangerous shockwaves. If you're feeling brave, you can try to attack it to interrupt the charge. Otherwise, your best bet is to just run as far away as possible.

The easiest way to handle this dragon, much like the previous ones, is to keep circling it. Try to stay relatively close to its sides, but not *too* close, so you can dodge its cross-shaped shockwave. Don't forget to call in powerful allies if you need some backup – Ophelia is always a solid choice at any point in the game.
