A comprehensive walkthrough for Fantasy Life's 'Trial of Time (Part 1)' DLC quest, detailing strategies for bosses like Grand Marinetaur, Antiquesaurus, and Strongtaur.
Walkthrough
- 11st Floor: Head north from the entrance. Defeat the two Banana Kings and a Bowtaur. Go east, defeat the Bowtaur to open the north door. Continue north to face two more Bowtaurs. In the large room with bridges and a fountain, fight Marinetaurs and Banana Kings, being cautious on the south side. In the next room, defeat two Marinetaurs. Heading south leads to a Berserk Giant and a treasure chest. Heading north leads to the boss chamber.
- 2Grand Marinetaur Boss: Defeat the Grand Marinetaur and its two lesser Marinetaurs. The Grand Marinetaur attacks with a water torrent (avoid by moving), a forward charge (avoid by moving, watch for off-screen attacks), and three arrows in an arc (can be interrupted with Stun).
- 32nd Floor: Navigate through weak Leafysauruses to reach the boss.
- 4Antiquesaurus Boss: Defeat the Antiquesaurus. Its attacks include a headbutt, a stomp (announced by a roar), and occasional multiple stomps. Its slow movement can be exploited by keeping mobile.
- 53rd Floor: This floor offers a choice between progression and treasure. Heading west leads to the Strongtaur boss and the next warp circle. Heading east leads to a Dark Giant and treasure chests.
- 6Strongtaur Boss: The Strongtaur attacks with a club pound, a summoned whirlwind followed by a club thrust, and three ground stomps before getting its club stuck. The whirlwind attack is difficult to avoid. The stomps are an opening for attack.
- 7Dark Giant Encounter (Optional): If heading east, you can fight a Dark Giant. Its attacks include a mega punch with a small explosion, a wide spinning explosion (use shield if Paladin), and a giant laser (counter-attack opportunity).
- 84th Floor: This is an outdoor floor. Speak to the bounty clerk to cash in bounties. Midway, you can optionally battle a Desert Tyrant with Greywing Pterosaurs; defeating the Tyrant is not required to advance.
Tips
- On the 1st floor, prioritize defeating the lesser Marinetaurs before engaging the Grand Marinetaur.
- Keep moving to avoid most of the Grand Marinetaur's attacks.
- Exploit the Antiquesaurus's slow movement by staying mobile.
- For the Strongtaur, be aware of the two-part whirlwind attack and use the club-stuck phase as an offensive opportunity.
- For the Dark Giant, use a shield for its spinning attack and counter-attack during its laser attack.
- The Desert Tyrant on the 4th floor is optional.
