Learn how to craft the Spinning Wheel in Grounded! Discover the required materials like Clay, Acorn Tops, and Red Ant Parts, and where to find them.

Alright, let's get you set up with a Spinning Wheel in Grounded. This bad boy is super important for making that silk rope you'll eventually need. To even think about building one, you first gotta unlock the recipe.

How to Unlock the Spinning Wheel: You'll need to analyze either an Acorn Top or some Web Fiber using the Resource Analyzer. Once that's done, you can place the blueprint in the world and start gathering materials to actually build it.

Just a heads-up, this thing isn't instant. Spinning rope takes time – about 1 hour and 12 minutes in-game, which is around 2 minutes and 24 seconds in real-time. So, plan accordingly!

How to Get Clay

Clay is found by digging up those reddish-brown rocks you'll see hanging out in and around puddles and ponds. To dig it up, you'll need an acorn shovel. If you haven't made one yet, check out our guide on how to craft an Acorn Shovel.

How to Get Acorn Tops

To get Acorn Tops, you'll need to smash up acorns with a Hammer. You can usually find acorns chilling near the Oak Lab. Just be careful, though – spiders love that area!

How to Get Red Ant Parts

Red Ant Parts come from, you guessed it, Red Worker Ants and Red Soldier Ants. You'll find them hanging around the Mysterious Machine and the Ant Totem Cave. They won't bother you unless you hit them first, but be aware that sometimes there are more than one around, which can make things a bit tricky.

How to Make Crude Rope

You can craft Crude Rope by hand using Plant Fiber. It takes 3 Plant Fibers for each Crude Rope. Plant Fibers are gathered from those small, low-lying plants you see all over the ground. Before you can even craft Crude Rope, you'll need to analyze Plant Fiber at the Resource Analyzer to unlock the recipe.

How to Get Sap

Sap is that sticky yellow goo you'll find on branches, especially around Oak Hill. You can also find a good amount of it on the shelves inside the Oak Lab. Once you have a hammer, you can also get sap from larger globs of it. Later on, you can even build a Sap Catcher to collect it automatically at your base!
