Learn how to complete the Pond Lab in Grounded. This guide covers reaching the lab, reactivating the power grid, and navigating the main lab area with essential tips.
Walkthrough:
- Prepare for Underwater: You'll need equipment to breathe underwater. The easiest to craft is the Gill Tube (requires 2 Lilypad Wax, 4 Eelgrass Strand, 2 Silk Rope). The Bubble Helmet (requires 5 Sunken Bone, 4 Eelgrass Strand, 4 Silk Rope) offers even more breathing time (160 seconds). Eelgrass Strands and Silk Ropes can be found in the lab's resource room, and Sunken Bones are outside.
- Enter the Pond Lab: Locate the Pond Lab deep within Koi Pond, near Oak Lab. You will need underwater breathing gear to reach it.
- Activate Bioscanner: Once inside, activate the bioscanner.
- Find the Power Grid Control: Head to the room to the right of the bioscanner. You'll find a power grid control lever, but all breakers need to be switched on first.
- Set Spawn Point: Before heading out to find the breakers, set your spawn point in the bed located in the room to the right of the power grid lever. Be aware of the new hostile robot enemy, the ARC.R, in this area. It uses electrical attacks and has a powerful electrical burst when it shakes. Ranged weapons are recommended, and disengage when it shakes if fighting up close.
- Find Breaker #1: Exit the lab tunnel and head left. The first breaker switch is nearby and easy to spot.
- Find Breaker #2: Swim straight ahead from the lab exit. Navigate through large underwater branches into an enclosed cave-like space to find the second breaker. You may encounter underwater spiders here.
- Find Breaker #3: Locate the ruined lab tunnels to the right of the Lab exit on the ground. Enter through the broken glass at the far end. Follow the tunnels left and then down to find the third breaker. This section is easier with the Bubble Helmet due to the long underwater path. If you don't have it, be quick to avoid drowning, but your spawn point will be available if needed. Slime Lanterns from the lab's resource room can also help.
- Return to the Lab: After turning all three breakers on, find the opening on the
