Getting Anvils: Equipment

Alright, so you're looking to get your hands on an anvil in No Rest for the Wicked, huh? It's a pretty crucial piece of crafting gear, and thankfully, there are a couple of straightforward ways to snag one once you've progressed a bit. After you take down Warrick the Torn, the city of Sacrament opens up, and that's your cue to start looking for anvils.

Your first option is to simply buy one. Head over to Danos, who you'll initially find hanging out near your living quarters at the Rookery. Chat him up, and you can purchase an anvil directly from him for 4 silver. Keep in mind, though, that to actually *use* this anvil, you'll need your own player housing. To unlock that, you'll need to finish the 'Rats' quest, and then buy a place in town. Houses usually run you about 20 to 30 silver, depending on the spot.

If buying isn't your jam, or you're not quite ready for player housing, there's another route: upgrading Fillmore's blacksmith shop. You'll need to get it to level 2. This upgrade requires some basic resources: Pine Wood and Copper Ore. You can gather Pine Wood by chopping down trees with your logging axe – the beach area near Mariner's Keep is a good spot for this. For Copper Ore, just mine any ore veins you find along that same beach. Once you've got the resources, you can upgrade the blacksmith, and it'll take about an hour to install. This upgraded smithy will have an anvil ready for you to use.

So, to recap: either buy one from Danos for 4 silver (if you have player housing), or gather Pine Wood and Copper Ore to upgrade Fillmore's blacksmith to level 2. Either way, once you've got your anvil installed, you'll be ready to start crafting some sweet new armor and weapons from the schematics you find!
