Learn how to unlock housing in No Rest for the Wicked by completing 'Of Rats and Raiders'. Discover how to purchase and furnish your new home with various benefits.

To unlock the housing feature in No Rest for the Wicked, you must first complete the quest “Of Rats and Raiders.” This quest is initiated by Winnick after you meet the Madrigal in Sacrament. You'll find Winnick and Odessa in the alley east of the War Room. The quest involves dealing with Darak in Orban Glades, culminating in a boss fight where you only need to reduce his health to 30%.

Following this, you'll learn from Rattigan that Darak plans to attack Sacrament through a sewer called The Black Trench, located west of Sacrament in Mariner’s Keep. After navigating this dungeon and defeating Darak in a two-part boss fight (the second phase involving a monstrous fiend form), the housing feature will be unlocked upon your return to Sacrament.

Once unlocked, you can purchase one of three houses: The Roost (20 Silver, in the slums east of the Rookery), The Homestead (25 Silver, north of the Rookery next to Danos), or The Manor (30 Silver, northeast of the War Room near Odessa). Houses differ primarily in location and size. To purchase, approach the signpost at the house location and select “Buy.” You can also sell a house for the same price, but ensure you retrieve any furnishings first.

Houses can be furnished to provide benefits. Sleeping in a bed for 4+ hours while logged off grants “rest experience,” increasing future experience gains and restoring health. You can also place storage like cupboards, wardrobes, and chests, as well as crafting stations. Furnishings can be crafted from recipes or purchased from merchants like Whittacker the Woodcutter. Upgrading Whittacker may unlock more options. To place furnishings, select them from your inventory, use them from the action bar, and enter “Structure Mode” to position and rotate them before placing. You can pick them up and reposition them as needed.
