Guide your way through Mariner's Keep to rescue the Innkeeper's Husband in No Rest for the Wicked. Learn enemy tactics and quest progression.

Alright, let's get this quest sorted! To start 'The Innkeeper's Husband,' you'll need to head back to the western edge of The Shallows, right on the shoreline. Look for a tower there – you can get inside through the broken back or by climbing the rocks and walking along the wall. Once you're up, you'll find a bridge connected to the tower. Our guy, the husband, is waiting for you on that bridge.

After you chat with him, he'll hand over the Western Gate Key. He's stuck on that bridge, and to get him down, you'll need to drop a ladder on the nearby wall. The path forward is a new area called Mariner's Keep, which is just north of the tower.

Now, head back to the main fort near the shore. On the western side, you'll spot a locked door by some small stairs. Use the Western Gate Key you just got here. This door is right next to the Whisper in the main fort, so you can't miss it.

Mariner’s Keep

Mariner's Keep isn't a huge area, but don't let its size fool you. The enemies in here are tougher than what you've been seeing, so make sure your dodge and parry skills are sharp. You'll run into enemies similar to the tougher ones found just outside the fort.

The key here is to try and isolate enemies. If you're facing a mix of melee brutes and ranged archers, try to lure the melee guys away first. Once they're recovering from their big swings, you can quickly dash over and take down the archers, as they have much lower health.

Be extra careful of the big hammer-wielding enemies. These guys can unleash a flurry of about six swings in a row. It's super easy to get killed in just two hits by them, so nailing your dodges is crucial. After they finish their combo, you'll have a small window to land a hit or two, or even a charged attack, before repeating the cycle.

Don't forget about their stagger bar! It's pretty important. You can stagger them relatively easily, which gives you a good chunk of time to land about six hits. Use this to your advantage.

Returning to Gordon

After fighting through a few more groups of enemies, you'll make your way back to the ladder where Gordon is waiting. Once you've dropped the ladder, you'll automatically talk to him again. He'll then head back to Sacrament.

Back in town, you can visit Gordon to buy crafting materials and ingredients for dishes, like mushrooms and herbs. He's a great resource for stocking up on healing items, which can be pretty scarce out in the world.
