How to Clear Purple Slime

Learn how to break purple slimes in Pokémon Legends: Z-A using water-type Pokémon and moves like Water Gun. Find recommended Pokémon like Staryu and Binacle.

To break purple slimes, you need to target them using ZL while using a water-type Pokémon or a water-type move. In the early game, Water Gun is a readily available move.

Here are some water-type Pokémon found in early wild zones:

• Staryu — Has water-type moves. Found in Wild Zone 2.
• Magikarp — Learns water-type moves upon evolution to Gyarados. Found in Wild Zone 2 and Wild Zone 6.
• Binacle — Has water-type moves. Found in Wild Zone 2 and Wild Zone 6.
• Totodile — Has water-type moves. Available as a starter Pokémon.

Staryu is a common choice as it's frequently found in Wild Zone 2 and has Water Gun. Binacles also learn Water Gun and other water moves, especially level 18 ones from Wild Zone 6, though they are rarer in Wild Zone 2.

Avoid Magikarp early on as its Splash move is not effective. While in previous games, Pokémon like Buneary could learn water moves, this has not been confirmed for Pokémon Legends: Z-A.

Other water-type Pokémon exist but appear in later zones. Staryu and Binacle are the most accessible for dealing with purple slime rock formations.
