How to Catch Meltan and Melmetal

First things first, you absolutely need to have captured Rayquaza. This happens in the postgame during the mission called “The Greatest Gift.” So, if you haven't done that yet, that's your first objective!

Once Rayquaza is in your collection, head over to Rouge Sector 1. You're looking for a specific woman who hangs out near Autumnal Avenue. Chat with her, and she'll give you Side Mission 193, which is called “Dreams of Meltan.” Your goal here is to catch a Level 70 Meltan that's chilling out nearby. Just a heads-up: Meltan is a Steel-type Pokémon, so be careful not to go overboard with Fire-type moves or anything super-effective, or you might accidentally knock it out. After you've successfully caught Meltan, a cool Hyperspace portal will pop up right in front of you.
