How to Catch Terrakion

Alright, so you're looking to add the legendary Terrakion to your team in Pokémon Legends: Z-A? It's a bit of a process, but totally doable! First things first, you'll need to have finished the postgame DLC mission called “The Greatest Gift,” where you snagged Rayquaza. Once that's done, head over to the Rust Syndicate Office. Your next step is to grab Side Mission 188, which is called “Start Special Scanning!”

After you've got the mission, you'll need to chat with Philippe at the Rust Syndicate Office. He's the one who'll help you with a special scan, but you gotta earn it. You'll need to rack up 25,000 Hyperspace Survey Points by exploring those mysterious Hyperspace portals scattered around. Once you hit that point total, head back to Philippe for the scan. Keep your fingers crossed that the game gives you an “Unknown” portal, because that's where you'll find Legendaries and Mythicals like Terrakion.

Got an “Unknown” portal? Awesome! You'll need a 5-star donut to jump in. Inside, the game will tell you which Legendary or Mythical Pokémon is waiting for you. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to find it before the timer runs out!

For Terrakion specifically, you'll find it chilling on the rooftops. When you enter the portal area, take a left, then immediately go right around the corner. You'll pass some scaffolding, then head down some steps. At the end of those steps, turn right again. Look for a holovator – use that to get up to the rooftop. Once you're up there, face left, and you should see Terrakion waiting across a narrow ramp.

Pro Tip: Seriously, save your game before you approach Terrakion. It's a Level 200 Pokémon and it's a Rock and Fighting type, so be prepared for a tough battle!
