Ranged combat in Project Windless demands a keen understanding of weapon accuracy, bullet drop, and recoil management. Each ranged weapon, from the 'Crude Bow' to the 'Scrap Musket', possesses distinct characteristics that influence its effectiveness at various distances. Mastering these nuances is key to landing critical shots and conserving precious ammunition against distant threats.

Accuracy: This stat determines how tightly your shots group. Higher accuracy means less bullet spread. Factors like movement, aiming down sights (ADS), and weapon attachments can significantly affect accuracy. Standing still and aiming down sights with a 'Hunter's Crossbow' will yield the highest accuracy.

Recoil: Recoil is the upward and backward kick of a weapon after firing, affecting subsequent shot placement. Weapons like the 'Scrap Musket' have noticeable recoil, requiring you to compensate by pulling down slightly on your aim. Firing in controlled bursts rather than sustained fire can help manage recoil, especially with automatic weapons (if available).
