The Blade of the Zephyr is a swift and potent one-handed sword in Project Windless, renowned for its high attack speed and its unique ability to inflict a 'Gust' debuff on enemies, slowing their movement speed by 15% for 5 seconds. To unlock its full potential and overcome formidable foes like the 'Stone Golem of the Crags' or the 'Shadow Lurker' in the 'Forgotten Catacombs', upgrade it using a series of specific crafting materials and a dedicated crafting station. The primary crafting station for weapon upgrades is the 'Forge of the Ancients', located in the dwarven city of 'Khaz'goroth'.

The Blade of the Zephyr can be upgraded through three distinct tiers, each requiring progressively rarer materials. The first tier, 'Tempered Blade', increases its base damage from 80 to 110 and enhances the Gust debuff to slow enemies by 20%. This upgrade requires 10 'Iron Ingots', 5 'Leather Scraps', and 2 'Wind Essences'. Iron Ingots can be mined from iron ore veins found throughout the 'Ironwood Forest', Leather Scraps are obtained by skinning defeated beasts, and Wind Essences are dropped by air elementals encountered in high-altitude regions like the 'Sky Peaks'.

The second tier, 'Enchanted Blade', further boosts the base damage to 150 and increases the Gust debuff's slow to 25%, with a duration of 7 seconds. This upgrade necessitates 15 'Steel Ingots', 8 'Hardened Leather', and 3 'Greater Wind Essences'. Steel Ingots are smelted from iron ore at a higher-tier forge, Hardened Leather is crafted from regular leather scraps, and Greater Wind Essences are found in more dangerous elemental rifts. The final tier, 'Stormblade', elevates the base damage to 200 and grants the Gust debuff a 30% slow for 10 seconds, with a 10% chance to trigger a minor lightning strike on hit, dealing an additional 50 lightning damage. This ultimate upgrade requires 10 'Mithril Ingots', 5 'Dragon Scales', and 2 'Storm Cores'. Mithril can only be mined in the deepest levels of the 'Crystal Caves', Dragon Scales are a rare drop from adult dragons, and Storm Cores are salvaged from ancient storm constructs found in the 'Thunderclap Peaks'.

note that each upgrade also slightly increases the weapon's weight, which can impact stamina regeneration. It is also recommended to have a Blacksmithing skill level of at least 50 before attempting the higher-tier upgrades, as failure can result in the loss of some materials. Interacting with the Forge of the Ancients will present the available upgrade recipes, clearly listing the required components and the resulting stat increases.
