In the unforgiving world of Project Windless, you are not always alone. Throughout your journey, you will encounter various allies and companions who can offer invaluable support in combat and exploration. Understanding how to effectively manage and utilize these allies is as crucial as mastering your own combat skills. Each companion, such as the stoic Knight Commander Valerius or the nimble Rogue Elara, possesses a unique set of abilities and combat proficiencies that can complement your playstyle. Valerius, for instance, excels at drawing enemy aggro with his Shield Bash ability, which has a 5-second cooldown and can taunt enemies within a 10-meter radius. Elara, on the other hand, specializes in debuffing enemies with her Venomous Strike, applying a poison that deals 20 damage per second for 8 seconds.

Your relationship with certain companions can evolve, unlocking new passive bonuses or even unique combat maneuvers. For example, completing the "Whispers of the Forgotten King" questline with Valerius will unlock his "Guardian's Aura" passive, which grants you a 15% damage reduction when he is within 5 meters. Similarly, building trust with Elara by completing her personal quests might unlock her "Shadow Dance" ultimate ability, allowing her to briefly become untargetable and deliver a devastating critical hit.

Failing to engage with your companions' personal quests might mean missing out on crucial buffs or powerful abilities that could be the difference between victory and defeat against formidable foes like the Obsidian Dragon.
