Sand Serpent Phase 2

Conquer the Sand Serpent's second phase in Project Windless. Adapt to its escalated aggression and master the timing for dodging its deadliest moves.

Upon depleting approximately 60% of the Sand Serpent's health, it will transition into its second phase, becoming even more aggressive and introducing new, devastating attacks. The arena itself will also change, with more sand geysers erupting, creating hazardous zones. In this phase, the Sand Serpent will frequently utilize a Sandstorm Barrage, spitting a volley of sharp sand projectiles that track your movement. These projectiles can be dodged by timing your Zephyr Dodge perfectly, or by using the remaining rock formations as temporary shields. The Serpent will also perform a more powerful version of its Sand Dive, creating a larger impact radius and leaving behind lingering pools of quicksand that slow your movement significantly.

The weak points remain the same – its emerald eyes – but they are exposed for even shorter durations. This phase demands exceptional reflexes and resource management. Your Chrono Flasks will be crucial for healing any damage sustained from the barrage of attacks. Consider equipping the Serpent Scale Charm, which offers a slight resistance to sand-based damage, if you have found it. A key strategy here is to bait out its Tail Swipe attack. If you position yourself behind it just as the swipe concludes, you can often get in 2-3 hits on its vulnerable tail segment before it repositions. Avoid getting cornered, as the combination of sand geysers and the Serpent's attacks can quickly lead to your demise. Mastering the timing of your Aether Blade's charged heavy attack for maximum damage during brief openings is paramount to overcoming this challenging phase.
