Soul Shards can be acquired through various means. They are occasionally dropped by elite enemies, such as the 'Abyssal Knight' found in the 'Depths of Despair', and can also be purchased from specific merchants. The most reliable vendor for Soul Shards is Elara, the Mystic, located in the central hub of 'Aethelburg'. Each Soul Shard allows you to refund a certain number of skill points, typically 10 points per shard. The cost of purchasing Soul Shards from Elara increases with each subsequent purchase within a single game session, so it's wise to plan your respecs strategically. The first Soul Shard usually costs 500 gold, with subsequent shards costing 750, 1000, and so on.

When respecing, it's important to consider your current gear and intended playstyle. For instance, if you've recently acquired the 'Serpent's Fang' dagger, which boasts a 25% bonus to poison damage and a unique proc that applies a stacking poison debuff, you might want to reallocate points from your 'Heavy Armor' tree into the 'Poison Mastery' and 'Agility' trees to maximize its effectiveness.
