Resident Evil 2 (Remake) Leon and Claire weapon guide, including locations for Matilda, W-870, SLS 60, and all their upgrades.

Leon's Weapons:

Matilda

This is Leon's starting weapon and holds 12 rounds of 9mm ammo. It can be upgraded with three accessories:

  • High Capacity Magazine: Found in the puzzle desk in the West Office. This expands the capacity to 24.
  • Gun Stock: Found in the boot of the police cruiser in the Parking Garage. This enables a 3-round burst fire mode.
  • Muzzle Brake: Found in the safe in the Waiting Room. This makes the gun more accurate and reduces recoil.

W-870

This is a high-powered shotgun found in the Weapons Locker in the Safety Deposit room. It has a capacity of 4 shells. A point-blank headshot (a shot to the head that is at very close range) will kill a zombie. It can be upgraded with two accessories:

  • Long Barrel: Found in Gun Shop Kendo after escaping from the police station. This expands the capacity to 8, reduces spread and increases range. It makes the shotgun take up two inventory slots.
  • Shotgun Stock: Found in the safe in the Water Treatment Room. It increases firing speed and reduces loading time.

Lightning Eagle

This is a high powered pistol found in the Armory in the S.T.A.R.S. Office. It has a capacity of 7 rounds and uses the very rare .50 caliber ammo. It can kill a zombie with a single round and can do so from range. It can be upgraded with two accessories:

  • Long Barrel: Found in a box in the basement area of the police station that can be unlocked using the S.T.A.R.S. Badge. This increases the damage but makes the gun take up two inventory slots.
  • Red Dot Sight: Found in Wesker's desk in the S.T.A.R.S. Office after developing the Hiding Place film.

Chemical Flamethrower

This is found in the Sewer Storage Room where you pick up the King and Queen Plugs. It takes up two inventory slots. Its capacity is 400 units of fuel. It panics non-undead enemies and is the only one of Leon's weapons that can kill Ivies permanently. It can be upgraded with one accessory:

  • Regulator: Found in a locker in the Nap Room in NEST. This improves fuel efficiency.

Anti-Tank Rocket

This is given to Leon during the fight against the Super Tyrant. In Leon's B scenario you can also use it in the G-5 fight. It has just four rockets.

M19

This is the pistol that Leon obtains in the Guard Room at the start of the B scenario. It holds 7 rounds of .45 ammo and cannot be upgraded.

Claire's Weapons:

SLS 60

This is Claire's starting pistol and holds 5 rounds of 9mm ammo. It can be upgraded with two accessories:

  • Speed Loader: Found in the puzzle desk in the West Office. This improves the otherwise horrible reload speed by allowing all 5 rounds to be reloaded in a single action.
  • Reinforced Frame: Found in the safe in the Water Treatment Room. This allows the SLS 60 to be loaded with .357 ammo. Unfortunately, the ammo is extremely rare and cannot be made.

GM 79

This is a grenade launcher found in the Weapons Locker in the Safety Deposit room. It only holds a single grenade and has a lengthy reload time. It can be upgraded with one accessory:

  • Shoulder Stock: Found in a locker behind a Diamond door in the police station basement. This allows the launcher to be aimed directly but makes it take up two inventory slots.

JMB Hp3

This is a pistol found in the boot of the police cruiser in the Parking Garage. It holds 13 rounds of 9mm ammo and has a red dot that replaces the normal aiming reticule. It can be upgraded with one accessory:

  • High-Capacity Magazine: Found in the safe in the Waiting Room. This increases the ammo capacity to 26.

MQ 11

This is a submachine gun found in the Armory in the S.T.A.R.S. Office. It has a capacity of 24 rounds and its ammo is fairly rare. It can be upgraded with two accessories:

  • Suppressor: Found in a box in the basement area of the police station that can be unlocked using the S.T.A.R.S. Badge. This greatly reduces the recoil but makes the gun take up two inventory slots.
  • High-Capacity Magazine: Found in Wesker's desk in the S.T.A.R.S. Office after developing the Hiding Place film. This increases the ammo capacity to 50 rounds.

Spark Shot

This is a stun gun found in the Sewer Storage Room where you pick up the King and Queen Plugs. It takes up two inventory slots. You can charge up the shot by holding down the L2 button after shooting. It can be upgraded with one accessory:

  • Voltage Condenser: Found in a locker in the Nap Room in NEST. This increases damage.

Minigun

This is found just before the G-4 boss fight and has a flat 400 rounds.

Quickdraw Army

This is the pistol that Claire obtains in the Guard Room at the start of the B scenario. It holds 6 rounds of .45 ammo and cannot be upgraded. It fires extremely quickly but the reload time is extreme.

Secondary Weapons:

Combat Knife

Simple and dependable. It wears out quickly when used to counterattack but slowly when used to slash enemies on the ground.

Flash Grenade
