Escape the Police Station as Claire in Resident Evil 2 (Remake), including the William Birkin G-1 boss fight and finding the Diamond Key.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Make your way to the exit and take the lift down.
  2. 2
Head downstairs to the first landing and go through the open door.
  3. 3
Follow the path round until your way is blocked by a fallen filing cabinet.
  4. 4
Move the filing cabinet to trigger a cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically) (a non-interactive story sequence) and your first boss encounter with William Birkin in his G-1 form.
  5. 5
After defeating William Birkin (G-1), the girl from the cutscene will drop a ladder.
  6. 6
Before climbing, stock up on resources: grab Handgun Ammo x15 and a Green Herb from the bottom right room, Red Herb and Handgun Ammo x14 from the lower left, and Handgun Ammo x14, a Hand Grenade, and a Green Herb from the upper right room.
  7. 7
Climb the ladder in the north of the area to get back onto the walkways.
  8. 8
Go into the room on your right, grab Gunpowder and a Green Herb from the lockers.
  9. 9
Run west and up the stairs, then follow the girl.
  10. 10
In the next room, pull a lever to activate a bridge.
  11. 11
Go across the bridge and follow the walkway to the Operators Room.
  12. 12
Grab the Hip Pouch from the locker, use the item box (it's recommended to keep Gunpowder and a G+R Herb, and bring the JMB Hp3 magazine), and save your game.
  13. 13
Leave the Operators Room via the ladder leading up.
  14. 14
After a brief cutscene, you will be in the Parking Garage.
  15. 15
Run over to the grille blocking the exit, investigate the card reader, and cancel out for a cutscene where you're introduced to Chief Irons.
  16. 16
Leave the Parking Garage through the eastern door.
  17. 17
Turn right, head south, and follow the passage until you find a Blue Herb.
  18. 18
Arm yourself with the Grenade Launcher before opening the nearby door.
  19. 19
Deal with the Licker inside feeding on a dead dog and the one just past the kennels. A Flame Round followed by a few shots from your pistol is effective. Back out of the room to reload if needed.
  20. 20
Grab the High Grade Gunpowder just inside the door.
  21. 21
Run to the other exit and leave the area.
  22. 22
Go through the nearby door to the morgue.
  23. 23
Kill the zombie near the door (shoot a leg off first as it is a bullet sponge).
  24. 24
Pull out the second drawer along to find a Red Herb, and the last drawer to find a Flash Grenade. Shut the drawer afterwards.
  25. 25
Check the second from last drawer on the other side.
  26. 26
Pull out the drawer and grab the Diamond Key. The corpse next to it will come to life; escape quickly without killing it.
  27. 27
Return through the Kennels, being careful of another Licker in the corridor.
  28. 28
At the top of the corridor, go west and through the door to the Firing Range.
  29. 29
Look for a yellow box on the counter and pick it up.
  30. 30
Examine the box in your inventory to find the Well Worn Key.
  31. 31
Unlock the door in the north with your Diamond Key to be able to discard the key later.
  32. 32
Pick up the Red Herb inside but ignore the Roll Film.
  33. 33
Be careful of two police zombies lurking just inside the Firing Range area proper.
  34. 34
Find Flame Rounds x2 near the counter inside the Firing Range.
  35. 35
    Return to the Parking Garage.
  36. 36
Examine the Well Worn Key in your inventory and turn it to reveal a button. Press it to unlock the boot of the black and white police cruiser. Discard the Well Worn Key.
  37. 37
Inside the boot is the JMB Hp3 pistol.
  38. 38
Make your way to the northern door that Chief Irons came out of.
  39. 39
Head north and grab the Raccoon Monthly June Issue file (43/58) from the table.
  40. 40
Grab the Police Station B1 Map from the wall.
  41. 41
Unlock the nearby door with your Diamond Key.
  42. 42
Look in the locker for the Shoulder Stock (GM 79) accessory.
  43. 43
Find High Grade Gunpowder and a Blue Herb.
  44. 44
Pull the lever when you are done looting.
  45. 45
Leave the room and use the nearby elevator.
  46. 46
When the elevator reaches the top, pick up the Green Herb (you should have the makings of a G+R+B Herb).
  47. 47
Go back inside the police station. You will emerge in the Chief's Office.
  48. 48
As you go through the door, look on the large desk for the Copy of Emails to Chief Irons file (44/58).
  49. 49
Look on a table for Submachine Gun Ammo x50 and the Taxidermy Log file (45/58).
  50. 50
Use the item box (grab any Wooden Boards and the Red Jewel).
  51. 51
Go through the other exit to the Private Collection Room.
  52. 52
Pick up the High Grade Gunpowder from just inside the door.
  53. 53
The Parking Garage Key Card is locked behind bars and requires solving an electrical puzzle.
Tips
  • When fighting William Birkin (G-1), keep your distance and shoot him, preferably in the head.
  • Shoot the large eyeball that appears from his shoulder.
  • Use your Grenade Launcher with an Acid Round if he gets close to stagger him.
  • If he grabs you, stab him in the eyeball with your Combat Knife.
  • If he grabs you without secondary weapons, use a healing item immediately.
  • Kite him around the walkways, but use your minimap (the small circular map in the bottom-left corner of your screen) (a small map displayed on your HUD (heads-up display — the on-screen icons showing health, ammo and the minimap), or Heads-Up Display) to avoid getting cornered.
  • Be prepared for the Lickers in the corridor; a Flame Round followed by pistol shots is effective.
  • The zombie in the morgue is a bullet sponge; aim for the legs.
  • When escaping the zombie in the morgue after getting the Diamond Key, prioritize speed over combat.
  • The JMB Hp3 pistol has a decent ammo capacity and a red dot aiming assist.
