Follow this Resident Evil 2 (Remake) guide to escape the Police Station as Leon, defeat William Birkin, and obtain key items like the Diamond Key and Tool.
Walkthrough
- 1Make your way to the exit and take the lift down.
- 2Head downstairs to the first landing and go through the open door.
- 3Follow the path round until your way is blocked by a fallen filing cabinet. Move it out of the way to trigger a cutscene and your first boss encounter with William Birkin in his G-1 form.
- 4After the boss fight, collect the following items: Handgun Ammo x15 and a Green Herb (bottom right room), Red Herb and Handgun Ammo x14 (lower left), Handgun Ammo x14, a Hand Grenade, and a Green Herb (upper right).
- 5Climb up the ladder in the north of the area to get back onto the walkways.
- 6Go into the room on your right. Grab the Gunpowder from the lockers and a Green Herb.
- 7Run west and up the stairs. As you go through the next room, pull a lever to activate a bridge.
- 8Go across the bridge and follow the walkway to the Operators Room. Grab the Hip Pouch from the locker (if playing on Standard or Hardcore difficulty), use the item box, and save your game.
- 9Leave this room via the ladder leading up. After a brief cutscene you will be in the Parking Garage.
- 10Run over to the grille blocking the exit, investigate the card reader and cancel out for a cutscene where you're introduced to Ada Wong.
- 11Follow Ada through the southern door. You'll find the Police Station B1 Map in a box on the wall and Handgun Ammo x7 on a cabinet.
- 12Head through the exit of this room to enter the jail area. Make your way to the end to meet up with Ben Bertolucci.
- 13After the scene finishes, pick up the Tool from the table near Ben's cell and the Memo: "Jail Power Panel" file (15/58).
- 14Head back out to the garage and take the northeastern exit.
- 15Take the passage leading south until you arrive in the Kennel. Pick up the High Grade Gunpowder near the door.
- 16Shoot the three infected dogs through the bars of their cages.
- 17Run around the cage area to the other exit in the east.
- 18Back out in the corridor, go through the nearby door to the Morgue.
- 19Look on the table just inside the entrance for the Autopsy Record No. 53477 file (16/58).
- 20Deal with the zombie near the door. Grab the Red Herb from the second drawer along and the Flash Grenade from the last drawer on the right.
- 21Check out the second from last drawer on the other side and grab the Diamond Key. A corpse next to it will come to life; escape the room.
- 22Go north from the Morgue until you come to a shutter blocking your way. Use the Tool on the mechanism to raise it.
- 23Enter the Generator Room on your right. Look to the left for a Green Herb.
- 24Go back into the main area and find the table with an orange box on it. Take the Boxed Electronic Part and examine it in your inventory to reveal an Electronic Part.
- 25Opposite the table are some shelves with Gunpowder. Run around the central structure to find a fuse box with four switches.
- 26Flick switches 3 and 4 to turn on the power.
- 27Run through the Kennel and north up the corridor. Turn right at the top and duck into the Firing Range.
- 28Look on the table just inside the door for the Equipment Disposal Notice file (17/58).
- 29Pick up the yellow box and examine it for the Well Worn Key.
- 30Look on the counter for the Message from Mr. Raccoon file (18/58).
- 31Use the Diamond Key to open the door at the back.
- 32Pick up the Red Herb if you want it along with the "3F Locker" Roll Film.
- 33Leave and go through the door to the Firing Range proper. Grab Shotgun Shells x4 on a trolley.
Tips
- When fighting William Birkin (G-1), use your knife for a few hits initially. Keep your distance and shoot him, preferably in the head. Shoot the large eyeball that appears from his shoulder. If he grabs you, stab him in the eyeball with your Combat Knife to unlock the "Right in the Eyeball" record. If you don't have secondary weapons when grabbed, use a healing item immediately. Kite him around the walkways and use your map to avoid getting cornered.
- If you're good, you can shoot the dogs out of the air as they leap at you to unlock the "Like Skeet Shooting" trophy.
- When dealing with the zombie in the Morgue, kneecap him and use your knife.
- Shut the drawer after taking the Flash Grenade from it in the Morgue.
- Don't bother attempting to kill the zombie that comes to life after you get the Diamond Key in the Morgue; just escape the room.
- When the power is turned on in the Generator Room, dogs will be unleashed. You can avoid most of them by running.
- Ignore the zombies in the Firing Range as they are not an immediate threat.
- Deal with the zombies from the neighbouring room in the Firing Range however you see fit.
