From the previous area, locate and collect the KATANA from a kneeling Passenger.

Check the east walls for a plank wall hiding another TORCH. Upgrade your Bow or Chainsaw with your existing Torch before picking up the new one.

Leave the hidden cave and return to the skipped rope. Drop down to find two Drawings and TIMMY'S TOY, plus some cloth. Use the other rope at the back to exit via Entrance 3 (E).

You emerge by a river. Head north-east towards the Wet Cave. Follow the river north until you can cross east via a small island.

From the new shore, follow the river east to rotten logs. You can cross south over these logs to a hill with two cannibal huts containing clothes in a case. This location is recommended for building a base due to resources, defensive properties, and proximity to Dead Cave (Entrance 3) and Hanging Cave (Entrance 2). Mark this spot with a Stick Marker.

Locate the Wet Cave, marked by white tents north-east of the cannibal huts by the river.

Wet Cave Entrances: Entrance 1 (NE) is by the four white tents. Entrance 2 (SW) is a Rebreather hole in the river. The Wet Cave allows access to the Dead Cave.

Wet Cave Notable Items: Old Photo 7, Timmy's Toy (1).

Wet Cave Preparation: The Wet Cave is small, contains no hostiles, and is primarily an entrance to the Dead Cave. No campsite is needed.

Find OLD PHOTO 7 on a rock to the right of Entrance 1 (NE).

Inside the Wet Cave, find two more Passengers (5A, 9D) and supplies, including TIMMY'S TOY among white pillows. A pre-built fire is available.

Explore north-west to find a ledge next to a climbing wall. You will need to drop down without the Climbing Axe. This leads to a part of the Dead Cave where the Chainsaw was found.

Back in the Wet Cave, a Rebreather pool down a south tunnel leads upwards to Entrance 2 (SW) on the river.

Point of Interest: A hill overlooking the river, north of Wet Cave's Entrance 2 (SW) or west of Entrance 1 (NE), has luggage cases. More cases are down the slope west, and the hill west of that has yellow cases with arrows and flares.

Head into the woods north of the river, north-west of the Wet Cave entrances, to find the Ledge Cave. Look for a small pond, then two white tents and boulders north of it. Ledge Cave Entrance 1 (E) is behind one of these boulders.

Ledge Cave Entrances: Entrance 1 (E) is behind two white tents, halfway between the map's center and east edge. Entrance 2 (W) is by a large white tent on a hill near the Sinkhole's north-west edge. The Ledge Cave allows access to the Dead Cave (with dynamite) and the Sinkhole.

Ledge Cave Notable Items: Climbing Axe, 'Great Savings' Chainsaw Advert, Old Photo 1, Old Photo 2, 'Opening The Artifact' Video Tape.

Ledge Cave Preparation: Bring molotovs or explosives for potential hostile encounters. There is one save point.

Entering Ledge Cave via Entrance 1 (E) leads down a rope into a puddle.

You will encounter a climbing wall that is meant to be descended with the Climbing Axe. To bypass this, step off the near-right corner of the cliff edge, hug the wall, and drop down without losing health. You cannot climb back up yet, but this is not an issue.

Note: The 'EXPLORE THE LEDGE CAVE' objective may not complete until you have climbed the wall from the bottom (which requires the Climbing Axe).
