Part 4

Build a construction yard, which is a collection of structures and tools that simplify base construction.

Build a Small Cabin off to the side of your main site for saving, resting, hiding, and sheltering from the rain.

Place a Wood Bench next to the Small Cabin; sitting on it fully revitalizes your energy.

Construct a Basic Fire to cook food and refill your waterskin from nearby fresh water.

Craft a Log Sled for easily transporting multiple logs from trees to your site.

Create Rock and Stick Holders, and craft inventory items like the Stick Bag and Rock Bag to save time.

Build a Tree Platform to provide a safe hiding place from cannibals.

Consult the Survival Guide to find buildings you plan to use. Experiment by building structures to understand their function, then reload from an archive save to begin properly.

Always place multiple blueprints before committing to building to visualize your base layout, space requirements, and total resource needs.

Prioritize planning and placing essential buildings and platforms before smaller items.

You can cancel any blueprint and reposition it. If building destruction is enabled, use a melee weapon to destroy unwanted structures.

Once primary components are placed, gather resources, primarily logs, utilizing slopes, the Log Sled, and Log Holders.

Note: The Log Sled has a flag that can be turned off. If the sled gets stuck in an unrecoverable location like a pond, place a Hole Cutter on top of it to remove it and its flag from the game.

Each chopped tree leaves a stump. Attacking the stump with a weapon removes it permanently. If the option to regrow trees is disabled, felled trees will not grow back, creating clearings. This prevents using felled trees for Tree Platforms, the Cassette Player, or sap collection, and makes your base more visible.

Note: If trees are set to regrow, they will reappear from stumps after a few game days. If you built over a stump, a tree may grow through your structures. Remove tree stumps before building over them.

A Custom Foundation allows you to paint an area with a platform of your chosen dimensions and height, indicating the required logs. This is useful for elevated positions, building on top, and creating a vantage point enemies can only access via stairs.

Custom Stairs can be resized to connect a Custom Platform to the ground. Building multiple sets increases access for you and enemies; building only one can bottleneck enemies for trap placement.

The Log Cabin is recommended for a large home, offering ample space and furniture, though it is costly. Ensure your Custom Foundation platform is at least twice the size of the Log Cabin.

A Tree Platform (besides the one in the construction yard) serves as an emergency escape and a foolproof base entrance. Build one at a central tree, surround it with lower-elevation Custom Foundations, and use the rope to climb and drop onto platforms, making you unreachable by cannibals. Multiple Custom Foundation platforms allow base compartmentalization.

A Wood Bench outside your Cabin provides a convenient spot to fully recover energy.

The Water Collector, built from a turtle shell, gathers rainwater, eliminating the need to visit a nearby pool.

The Garden allows you to plant seeds collected from forest plants.
