Fairy Fountains

Find all Fairy Fountain locations in The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, including Small Fairies, Great Fairies, and special fairies.

Small Fairies heal 8 hearts or can be caught in a Bottle to revive you upon falling in battle. Great Fairies fully heal you. Special fairies can upgrade items and carrying capacity.

Small Fairies - Overworld

1. Near Eastern Palace: South of the Eastern Palace entrance, go south to a dead end with a ring of posts. Enter the cave for four Fairies.
2. Near Link's House: One screen west of Link's house, dash into a rock pile (requires Pegasus Boots) to reveal a grotto with four Fairies.
3. Ice Cave: On the northeastern shore of Lake Hylia, enter the cave. In the next room up, find a couple of Fairies.
4. Lake Hylia: After buying Zora's Flippers for 500 Rupees, swim to the island in the center of the lake. Bomb the east wall of the cave to find four Fairies.
5. Spectacle Rock: Enter the cave at Spectacle Rock on Death Mountain (Light World). Drop into the large hole and go east to find three Fairies.
6. Lumberjacks' House: After defeating Agahnim, return to the Light World. Dash into the Strange Tree between the Lost Woods and Death Mountain, then drop into the hollow stump. Go north inside the cave for four Fairies.
7. Near Bomb Shop (Dark World): One screen west of the Bomb Shop in the Dark World, dash into the rock pile and enter the grotto for four Fairies.
8. Death Mountain (Light World): On the lower level of eastern Death Mountain, enter the western of two adjacent caves. Use the Hookshot to cross a gap and find four Fairies. On the top level, drop down the second gap from the west to find a cave with a couple of Fairies.
9. Death Mountain (Dark World): In the eastern part of Death Mountain in the Dark World, lift a large stone to reveal a grotto. Cross the invisible walkway, bomb the north wall, then bomb the west wall and the next north wall to find three small Fairies.

Small Fairies - Dungeons

1. Eastern Palace: In the large hub room on 1F where you get the Bow, go up the steps and drop into one of the two jars from the high ledge to reach a secret room with two Fairies.
2. Desert Palace: In the southwest room on B1, push the third block from the west to open the north door. Two Fairies await in the next room.
3. Tower of Hera: On 5F, drop into the northernmost of three diagonally arranged holes in the northwestern part of the room to land among two Fairies.
4. Palace of Darkness: In the room where you obtain the Map, bomb the east wall and go through the opening to find three Fairies.
5. Ice Palace: On B5, after turning a Crystal Switch blue, drop into either of the two holes in the north room to fall into a jar leading to a secret room with three Fairies.
6. Turtle Rock: In the main hub room on 1F, debark at the northeastern ledge guarded by a Red Stalfos and take the door. (The rest of this entry is cut off in the source.)
