Walkthrough
  1. 1
Enter Skeleton Forest via the southeast. Fight Ropas and Pikits.
  2. 2
Go north or northwest to find two holes. Fall into the westernmost hole to enter the dungeon.
  3. 3
In the first dungeon room, defeat the two Blue Bari with the Hookshot.
  4. 4
Move south, fighting Blue Hardhat Beetles and dodging the bumper.
  5. 5
Wait for the Guruguru Bar to move, then go through the east door.
  6. 6
In the next room, defeat the Red and Blue Hardhat Beetles and another Guruguru Bar.
  7. 7
Go to the northern part of the room to find a chest containing the Compass. This activates a hidden Star Switch and creates holes in the floor.
  8. 8
Carefully navigate the holes and go through the north door.
  9. 9
In this room, defeat the three Gibdos. Be aware of the Wallmaster (a hand-like being that will transport you back to the dungeon entrance if it grabs you).
  10. 10
Go to the northwest corner to pick up Small Key #1.
  11. 11
Unlock the east door and go east two rooms.
  12. 12
Defeat the Red Hardhat Beetle and step on the Star Switch to reach the chest containing the Map.
  13. 13
Use the Magic Mirror to warp back to the room where you first entered the dungeon.
  14. 14
Go south again, then east two doors.
  15. 15
In this long room, defeat the Gibdos and avoid the Wallmaster. Pick up the skulls to reach the chest containing Small Key #2.
  16. 16
Unlock the door in the northeast corner and go through.
  17. 17
You will be in a previously visited room. Go west and then take the exit to return to the Skeleton Forest.
  18. 18
Emerge from the large skull's mouth. Go north through the bony tunnel, defeating a Ropa, then loop south.
  19. 19
Enter the different skull entrance at the dead end.
  20. 20
Defeat the Blue Bari and Gibdos, and beware the Wallmaster.
  21. 21
Move the east statue west toward the central skull's switch, then pull it north onto the switch. Do this in spurts to avoid the Wallmaster.
  22. 22
    Go through the north door.
  23. 23
In this room, ignore the skull at the top. Avoid the Rabbit Beam (which reverts Link to bunny form) and defeat enemies.
  24. 24
Open the chest to obtain the Big Key. (Optionally, bomb the east wall to find a room with a Wallmaster and a Magic Decanter.)
  25. 25
Exit the dungeon and return to the overworld.
  26. 26
Retrace your steps through the bony tunnels. Look for a cluster of nine flower bushes. Cut them to reveal an opening in the middle and drop in.
  27. 27
You will land in a room of the dungeon in the center of a c... (The source text cuts off here, preventing further steps from being documented.)
Tips
  • If you have at least 160 Rupees, consider buying a Blue Potion before entering the dungeon.
  • Wallmasters cannot be permanently defeated as they respawn (be brought back to life at a checkpoint after death) infinitely. It is best to avoid them.
  • Using the Magic Mirror resets skulls' contents and respawns all defeated enemies.
  • Sprinkle Magic Powder on a Rabbit Beam during its immobile moment to turn it into a Fairy.
