Discover secrets in The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past's Graveyard, including how to get 100 Rupees and Bombs.

  • Hookshot
  • Magic Hammer
  • Book of Mudora
  • Flute
  • Bombs
  • Ice Rod (for hint)
Walkthrough
  1. 1
From the Swamp Palace in The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, head east to the southeast corner of the overworld map, then turn north. Continue north until you reach the area resembling the Ice Cave in the Light World.
  2. 2
Enter the cave and talk to the sentient hand. He will tell you a story for 20 Rupees.
  3. 3
Exit the cave and bomb the cracked wall next to it to find a Great Fairy.
  4. 4
Lift the large stone nearby to reveal a third cave. Enter it.
  5. 5
Use the Hookshot to cross the pit to the Telepathy Tile. Interact with the tile for a hint: freezing an enemy with the Ice Rod and then destroying them with the Magic Hammer often yields a large Magic Decanter. This strategy requires magic and may not work if you are completely out of magic.
  6. 6
Use the Magic Mirror to warp to the Light World. Call your bird with the Flute and fly to point #1: Death Mountain.
  7. 7
Go to the top of the mountain where the Tower of Hera stands. Cross the bridge west of the tower and read the stone tablet with the Book of Mudora to gain the Ether Medallion, which freezes all enemies on screen and consumes magic.
  8. 8
Make your way east of the Tower of Hera, cross the long bridge, and use the Magic Hammer on the posts blocking the path.
  9. 9
Continue east, fighting Tektites and Deadrocks, until you find a rock pile (containing a Fairy). Drop down the easternmost gap to find two cave entrances. Enter the western cave.
  10. 10
Use the Hookshot to cross the gap to the pot on the far side. Descend the steps to a Fairy fountain with four Fairies.
  11. 11
Exit this cave and go south to a lonely cave in the southeast corner.
  12. 12
Enter this cave and drop into the pit to the floor below. Bomb open the north entrance to find two chests containing Bombs and 10 Arrows, and pots with Hearts.
  13. 13
Leave this room, go up the next stairwell, and then north. Defeat the three Mini-Moldorms.
  14. 14
Strike the Crystal Switch to access five chests, each containing a Red Rupee, for a total of 100 Rupees.
  15. 15
Leave this room, drop into the pit again, and push the block south to exit. (Alternatively, going northwest leads to an item shop.)
  16. 16
Retrace your steps to the southeastern cave. Instead of dropping into the pit, take the stairs up.
  17. 17
Dispatch Mini-Moldorms as you climb and exit the cave.
  18. 18
Look for the westernmost gap near the rock pile and drop down to a ledge with another cave entrance. Go inside.
  19. 19
Travel through the underground spiral, dropping into the pit at the end to land on a high ledge with a chest containing 50 Rupees.
  20. 20
(Optional: From the top of Death Mountain, dropping down the second gap from the west lands you in front of a cave with more Fairies and Blue Rupees under pots.)
  21. 21
To find secrets in the Graveyard: Use the Flute to fly to point #4: Link's house. Go north and pass through the Hyrule Castle gate to reach the Dark World.
  22. 22
Go east one screen and then north one screen. Look for a gap on the west bank of the river where the grass forms an arrow pattern pointing west. Stand at the edge and use the Hookshot to cross to the skulls on the other side.
Tips
  • The sentient hand's story is a hint about the middle-aged man near the Desert of Mystery in the Light World.
  • The Telepathy Tile hint about the Ice Rod and Magic Hammer is useful for obtaining Magic Decanters, especially against strong enemies like Hinoxes.
  • The Ether Medallion functions like a screen-wide Ice Rod, freezing all enemies, but consumes significant magic.
  • Blue Tektites are weaker than Red Tektites.
  • If you are completely out of magic, you cannot use the Ice Rod strategy.
