Songs
As the current Hero of Time, Link in Majora's Mask 3D has one of the job's critical pieces of equipment: the Ocarina of Time. By playing music on it and shredding it like a boss, Link is able to affect the flow of time, among other things. Playing the Ocarina is simple enough: you press A, X, Y, L, or R, as required. Below, you'll find an alphabetical list of the songs, their effects, and how to play them.
Keep in mind that you cannot use their effects unless you were actually taught the song in-game, so you must also meet the unlocking conditions for the song in question!
Elegy of Emptiness
How to Play: Y, X, Y, L, Y, A, X
Effects: This allows you to create an empty shell of your current form. You can only have one active shell at a time.
Learned: When you beat the King of Ikana in the Ancient Castle of Ikana.
Epona's Song
How to Play: A, X, Y, A, X, Y
Effects: Whenever you're in Termina Field, playing this song will bring Epona to you. It usually has no effect otherwise.
Learned: In Romani Ranch, after having some target practice.
Goron Lullaby
How to Play: R, Y, X, R, Y, X, Y, R
Effects: This song will temporarily put nearby Gorons to sleep.
Learned: When you play the Lullaby Intro for the crying baby in the Goron Shrine, this song will not only be learned but will also replace the Lullaby Intro.
Inverted Song of Time
How to Play: L, R, Y, L, R, Y
Effects: Slows down the time in the game, giving you some breathing room. If time is already slowed, this returns it to normal speed. Time will slow to exactly half-speed: whereas 1 minute normally passes in 2 seconds of real time, it's now 1 second = 1 minute. That's really helpful!
Learned: This one is usable straight from the start of the game.
Lullaby Intro
How to Play: R, Y, X, R, Y, X
Effects: This will put the crying baby in the Goron Village to sleep.
Learned: When you thaw out the Elder Goron and speak with him as Goron Link, you'll learn this song.
New Wave Bossa Nova
How to Play: X, A, R, L, X, A
Effects: This song allows Link to swim faster.
Learned: After playing the Goron Lullaby for the Goron Elder, swim to Zora Cape and speak with the guitarist.
