Guide to Part 29 of The Settlers: Rise of an Empire. Learn how to conquer Gueranna, manage resources, and defeat Crimson Sabatt's forces.
Walkthrough
- 1Start with 3 woodcutters, a hunter, and 30 meat. Build a tanner for early promotion.
- 2Meet other villages and impress them with high reputation to trigger new quests. Keep exploration minimal until your settlement is built up.
- 3Take territories to the east and south held by bandits. Use your knight first, then troops to burn tents and attack bandits.
- 4A quest requires building a wall. Sabatt will raid early; you can let her in as her troops are few and won't burn buildings. Save your troops for bandits.
- 5When a building burns, select it and summon idle settlers to extinguish the fire faster.
- 6After surviving the first attack and promoting to Baron, expand south for stone, then east for iron. Use stone to seal your city and raise your army. You cannot reach Duke due to lack of sheep/wool.
- 7Seal your eastern and southern borders. The northern border wall may require a zig-zag pattern.
- 8Head north to defeat soldiers in a village. Then, head west to destroy a bandit camp that has overrun the harbor. Take Sabatt's outpost first, then the bandits. A shipwreck here is worth 400 gold.
- 9The north village will request 40 iron to build barracks. After delivery, you'll have open trade and they will sell cows for cheese making.
- 10After clearing troops from the south village, take the territory to their west, guarded by a wooden wall. Use a ram or burn the wall, conserving torches for the outpost. They will request 30 iron for barracks.
- 11This village sells sheep, needed for Duke rank (banners and catapults).
- 12Consider taking the territory due west of your village for an outpost, a ruin worth 400 gold, and another iron mine.
- 13Free the southwest village, which will ask you to send a thief to a western town (south of the main city) to free their cardinal. You can take a territory just south of this city.
- 14The southwest village sends medicine as a gift, which may pile up in your marketplace. You can use medicine carts to trigger another festival.
- 15To attack Sabatt's main city, Gueranna, use 3 catapults and ammo carts. Destroy the storehouse to win. Without catapults, it's tougher but possible with torches. Defeating the main camp early can lead to an early victory.
Tips
- Save your game with your army near your settlement before taking over Sabatt's territories.
- The AI is predictable; learn its attack patterns by playing the map repeatedly.
- Building a wall around your settlement is not required but can help defend the large area.
- If you don't build a stone wall early, you'll have enough stone to upgrade special buildings to Baron.
- Conserve torches for outposts when dealing with wooden walls.
- Troops fight better in their own territory.
