New to The Universim? This guide breaks down the essential early-game buildings: Epicenter, Wells, Farms, and more. Learn how to manage resources and keep your Nuggets happy and healthy!

Alright, so you've just dropped into The Universim and you're ready to start building your first civilization. Don't worry, it's not as complicated as it sounds! Think of me as your cosmic construction buddy. We'll get your Nuggets thriving in no time.

First things first, the game might offer you a tutorial. It's a good idea to run through it, especially if you're new to the camera controls or basic commands. It'll get you familiar with how to move around and interact with the world.

The Mother Planet & Your First Building

You'll start on your 'Mother Planet,' which is a randomly generated world each time. It's got all the familiar stuff: water, trees, seasons – pretty much like Earth. Your main goal here is to build up your civilization from scratch.

The very first structure you'll place is the Epicenter. This is super important – it's the heart of your settlement. Once it's up, it'll spawn your first four Nuggets: two adults and two kids. To give your little guys the best start, try to place the Epicenter near a few key resources: a water source, some trees, and loose rocks. Having these close by means less walking for your Nuggets, saving precious time for gathering and building.

When you've found the perfect spot, just left-click to place it. You'll get a confirmation prompt, so make sure you're happy with the location!

Construction Essentials: Water, Food, and Keeping Things Running

With your first Nuggets on the scene, the adults will start gathering resources. Your immediate priority is water. You'll want to build a Well. To do this, click that handy hammer icon in the bottom left to open the Buildings menu, then find the Well under the Epicenter category. Place it near a good water source – you'll see numbers indicating the water quality, so aim for higher ones!

While the Well is being built, take a look at your surroundings. If you've got multiple water bodies, you can set up more Water Pumps or even Fisher Piers to get food. More water sources just mean faster resource gathering!

Once the Well is done, get a Water Pump going. Most buildings need one to function, so it's a critical step.

Feeding Your Folks

After the water situation is stable, it's time to think about food. You can go the fishing route, or you can build Farms. If you opt for Farms, you might need another Water Pump to keep those crops hydrated. Different crops have different needs – some use less water, some grow faster, and some yield more food. It's usually a good idea to start with a crop that doesn't guzzle water.

Maintenance and Health

As your population grows, you'll need to think about upkeep. Build an Engineer's Hut so your Nuggets can repair buildings. If buildings fall apart, you'll waste resources rebuilding them from scratch. It’s also wise to build a Hospital or a Cemetery around this time. Injured Nuggets need healing, and unattended corpses can spread illness. A plague or mass injury can quickly spell disaster for your budding civilization!

Extra Amenities

Once the basics are covered, you can add buildings like an Eatery to turn raw food into prepared meals, or a Forecast Tower to get a heads-up on upcoming weather and seasons. This helps you plan ahead!

Keep Growing!

As your civilization expands, you'll just need to build more of everything – more water pumps, more farms, more hospitals. The game has a population cap right now, but that's expected to change as development continues. Just keep an eye on your Nuggets' needs and build accordingly!
