First off, the game might offer you a quick tutorial. I highly recommend jumping into it! It's a super fast way to get a feel for the camera controls and the basic goals. After that, you'll be dropped onto your 'Mother Planet'. This place is unique every time you play, but it'll feel familiar with its water, greenery, and seasons, kind of like Earth.

Your very first move is placing the Epicenter. This is the heart of your budding civilization. Once it's built, it'll pop out four little nuggets – two adults and two kids to get things rolling. Here's a pro-tip: try to plop that Epicenter down somewhere near a water source, some trees, and a patch of loose rocks. Having these resources close by means your nuggets won't have to trek forever to gather what they need, saving precious early-game time.

Construction Essentials

With your initial four nuggets, the adults will get right to work. Your first priority? A Well! You'll find this under the 'Buildings' menu, usually in the Epicenter category. Click the hammer icon at the bottom left to open it up. When you place the Well, keep an eye on the numbers floating above your mouse – higher numbers mean a better water source. Get it near some water!

While the Well is being built, think about your water strategy. If you've got multiple water sources nearby, you can set up more Water Pumps later, or even start thinking about Fisher Piers for food. More water access generally means faster resource gathering.

Once the Well is up and running, it's time for a Water Pump. Most buildings actually need a Water Pump to function, so this is a crucial next step.

Feeding Your Folks

With water sorted, let's talk food. You've got a couple of options here. You can stick with fishing using those Fisher Piers, or you can build Farms and plant crops. If you're going the farm route, you might need another Water Pump to keep those crops happy and growing. Different crops have different needs – some prefer specific temperatures or biomes, and some take longer to grow but give you more food. My advice? Start with a crop that doesn't guzzle water.

Keeping Things Running

As your population grows, you'll need to think about maintenance. Your next essential building should be an Engineer's Hut. This lets your engineers repair buildings before they fall apart. Trust me, you don't want to deal with collapsing structures – it's a huge resource drain. Around this time, also consider building a Hospital or a Cemetery. Injured nuggets lose health if they aren't treated, and dead nuggets can spread illness if they aren't buried promptly. A mass illness or injury outbreak can quickly cripple your civilization.

Extra Amenities

Once the basics are covered, you can add some nice-to-haves. Building an Eatery lets you turn raw food into prepared meals, which is always a good move. You can also build a Forecast Tower to get a heads-up on future weather and seasonal changes, helping you plan ahead.
