Alright, so you've just booted up The Universim and you're staring at a brand new planet. Exciting stuff! This guide is all about getting your little civilization off to a solid start, focusing on those crucial first steps in resource management and construction. Remember, there's no single 'right' way to play, but following these tips will definitely set you up for success.

The Tutorial & Your Starting World

When you first start, the game will offer a tutorial. It's a good idea to jump into it! It'll walk you through the basics of camera controls and introduce you to your main goal. After that, you'll be dropped onto your 'Mother Planet'.

This planet is randomly generated each time, so it'll always feel fresh. Think of it like a more advanced Earth, complete with water, greenery, seasons, and clouds. This is where your civilization will begin!

Placing Your Epicenter

The very first building you'll place is the Epicenter. This is super important – it's the heart of your settlement. Once it's built, it'll spawn your first four Nuggets: two adults and two kids.

Pro-Tip: When placing your Epicenter, try to find a spot that's close to a water source, a forest, and some loose rocks. Having these resources nearby means your Nuggets won't have to travel as far to start gathering what they need. To place it, just left-click on your chosen spot and confirm.

Essential Early Construction

Water is Life

As soon as your first Nuggets get going, you'll want to get a Well built. You can find this in the Buildings menu under the Epicenter category (click the hammer icon at the bottom left). When placing the Well, pay attention to the numbers above your mouse – higher numbers mean a better water source.

While the Well is being built, think about your water sources. If you have multiple bodies of water, you can use them for more Water Pumps or for Fisher Piers to get food. Having more water access really speeds things up.

Once the Well is done, build a Water Pump. Most buildings need water to function, so this is a top priority.

Feeding Your People

After securing water, it's time to think about food. You've got two main options: fishing with Fisher Piers or building Farms.

If you go with Farms, you might need another Water Pump to keep those crops happy. Different crops have different needs – some grow better in certain biomes or temperatures, and some give more food but take longer to harvest. It's often best to start with the crop that needs the least amount of water.

Keeping Things Running: Maintenance

As your population grows, you'll need to build an Engineer's Hut. This lets your Nuggets repair buildings. If buildings fall apart, you'll have to rebuild them from scratch, which is a huge waste of resources.

You should also consider building a Hospital or a Cemetery around this time. Injured Nuggets lose health if they aren't treated, and unburied dead Nuggets can spread illness. Keeping your Nuggets healthy and alive is key to preventing a civilization-ending disaster!

Comforts and Foresight

Once the basics are covered, you can start thinking about conveniences. Building an Eatery lets you turn raw food into prepared meals, which is more efficient. And a Forecast Tower will give you valuable intel on upcoming weather and seasons, helping you plan ahead.

Keep Building, Keep Growing

As your population increases, you'll need to build more of everything – more water pumps, more farms, more hospitals, and so on. The game currently has a population cap, but that's expected to change as development continues. Just keep expanding and managing your resources, and you'll be well on your way to a thriving civilization!
