Epilogue: Aftermath

Navigate The Witcher 2's Epilogue to secure achievements. Decide Letho's fate, battle the Dragon Saesenthessis, and pursue the "Guru" level 35 achievement.

The Epilogue of The Witcher 2 offers pivotal choices and opportunities for final achievements. After dealing with Síle and grounding the Dragon, Saesenthessis, you face a critical decision: kill the Dragon or walk away. Killing the Dragon is necessary for a specific achievement. Reaching the Epilogue itself, after the Dragon's fate is decided, unlocks the "Once Ain't Enough" achievement.

Achieving Character Level 35, the "Guru" achievement, is possible if you farmed experience to Level 34 previously. The final level-up experience after the Dragon encounter will push you to Level 35. Without prior farming, this achievement is nearly impossible. The ultimate choice in the Epilogue involves Letho: let him go or kill him. Killing Letho, after a flashback with the Wild Hunt and telling him it's time to finish things, unlocks the "Avenger" achievement. This fight is considerably easier than the Act I encounter, especially with good gear like the Forgotten Vran Sword and Vran armor. Conversely, sparing Letho grants the "Old Friends" achievement. Finishing the game at any difficulty level, after deciding Letho's fate, unlocks the "To Be Continued" achievement.

Other quests that continue into the Epilogue or are available include "A Score to Settle Continued," "Poker Face: Loc Muinne," "Mystic River Continued," "The Gargoyle Contract," "An Encrypted Manuscript," "From a Bygone Era Continued," and "A Summit of Mages." The main story concludes with "Enter the Dragon." The Epilogue sections differ based on whether you followed Roche's or Iorveth's path.
