Alright, so you've got The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition for your Xbox 360 and you're ready to dive in. Before we get Geralt hacking and slashing, we gotta make sure you're set up right. This guide will walk you through the installation and get you familiar with the controls so you don't get caught with your sword down.

The game itself is pretty complex, especially on the 360, so it's a really good idea to play through the tutorial section first. It'll cover all the basics and make sure you're not fumbling around when the real action starts.

Xbox 360 Controls

Here’s how to control Geralt on the Xbox 360:

Back Button: This is your go-to for opening and closing tutorial windows. You can also open up your Inventory or Journal panels by holding it and using the Left or Right Triggers.
Left Analog Stick: Use this to move Geralt around the world. It's also used to control the cursor in Arm Wrestling and the dice in the dice poker game.
Left Stick Press: This activates Geralt's Witcher's Medallion, which is super useful for detecting magic and other things.
Right Analog Stick: This lets you spin the camera around Geralt to get a better look at your surroundings or to aim during combat. It's also used to select targets when you're fighting.
A Button: This is your main interaction button – use it to grab items from containers, equip gear, track quests in your Journal, talk to NPCs, accept menu options, and perform a quick attack with your sword drawn.
B Button: This is your dodge button. Combine it with the Left Analog Stick to quickly roll out of the way of enemy attacks.
Y Button: Use this to drop items from your Inventory. It's also how you cast Signs, your magical abilities.
Left Bumper: This is for sorting items in your inventory.
Right Bumper: Also for sorting items in your inventory.
Left Trigger: When you have your Inventory Panel open, this switches you to the Journal and back. You can also press and hold it to open the quick menu. Holding it while an enemy is selected will lock the camera onto them for combat.
Right Trigger: Similar to the Left Trigger, this switches between Inventory and Journal. In combat, holding it allows you to parry incoming attacks.
Directional Pad: Pressing Left on the D-Pad will draw or sheathe your Steel Sword. Pressing Right does the same for your Silver Sword.
