This can be particularly useful for tackling the Insane difficulty playthrough.

Game Overview and Save Imports

The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition was developed for various platforms, including the Xbox 360. Importing a save file from The Witcher – Enhanced Edition can provide significant benefits. Decisions made in the first game, along with Orens, weapons, or armor, can transfer, giving Geralt an "extra edge" in The Witcher 2. This feature is especially helpful for those attempting an Insane Difficulty playthrough. While the story of the first Witcher game is compelling, its dated gameplay style might be difficult for some players to engage with. No items or Orens transfer from The Witcher 2 to The Witcher 3, outside of specific in-game decisions.

Witcher's Medallion and Exploration

The Witcher's Medallion is a crucial tool for exploration. By pressing the Left Analog Stick (L3), Geralt can detect nearby containers, herbs, monsters, Places of Power, and threats. After use, the medallion has a cooldown period. Activating the medallion often reveals glowing spots indicating herbs to collect. For example, early in the game, you can activate the medallion to find four herbs. After collecting them, a tutorial will appear. You can also find a Circle of Life and locate the WITCHER'S SILVER SWORD DIAGRAM by searching crates and chests.

Side Quests and Achievements

The side quest "In the Claws of Madness" is offered by Cedric if you inquire about Witcher's work. This quest is tied to the "Librarian" achievement, which requires finding all four books located within the burned-down asylum. To begin, head to the burned-down asylum south of the final Endrega Nest. You will encounter Rupert, one of two lost explorers, and fight off Crazed Nekkers. Your task is to enter the asylum to find Gridley and locate the four Hospital Files.

Achievement Hunting Tips

• For the "Ricochet Achievement," save at least 2 Talent Points until it's time to unlock it.
• To unlock achievements related to specific abilities from the three Ability Trees (each requiring 8 Talent Points), it's easiest to hoard 8 Talent Points, then repeatedly reload a save file to unlock each achievement individually.
• For the "Librarian" achievement, find all 4 additional information about the insane asylum's history.
• To get a five-of-a-kind in dice poker, play against the soldier in the Prologue camp. He will never resign, allowing you to re-roll until you achieve it. You can import a Witcher 1 save or collect Orens in the camp to start playing.
