Defeat four Barghests in The Witcher's Outskirts of Vizima. Earn 500 XP and learn how to get the Crinfrid Oil recipe.
Walkthrough
- 1Immediately after gaining control of Geralt, fight four Barghests. Use the Group Style initially, then switch to the Fast Style for any remaining enemies. Avoid attacking your allies.
- 2After defeating the Barghests, witness the orphan Alvin recite the Ithlinne’s Prophecy.
- 3Speak with Shani, who will inform you about the Reverend and men with Salamander badges, and potentially about the Beast.
- 4Talk further with Shani to learn about her, Alvin, and Salamander activity.
- 5Head to the Country Inn and ignore the Notice Board and Vesna Hood for now.
- 6Speak with Innkeeper Olaf and store unneeded items in the chest to his left.
- 7Engage in boxing matches in the corner of the Inn against two Fist Fighters and a Wimpy Fist Fighter. Each match can yield approximately 50 Orens. Avoid fighting Fat Fred until after grinding as it advances the “Fistfight” quest.
- 8Find a “Drunkard” and initiate a drinking contest by clicking the beer mug icon. Use weak alcohol like Kaedwenian Stout or Viziman Champion. After five mugs of Viziman Champion, you will receive “The Tome of Fear and Loathing, volume I”.
- 9Pay Innkeeper Olaf five Orens to sleep or find another way to rest. Distribute your talents, aiming for level three or four, selecting Monster Lore, Strong Steel (level 2), and Stun. Rest until the afternoon.
- 10Locate the Dwarven Blacksmith north of the gate. After he speaks, ask about weapons to purchase oil for 35 Orens and receive the Crinfrid Oil recipe.
