Follow this comprehensive guide to complete 'All the Kings Men' in The Witcher, including navigating Salamandra hideouts, dealing with Radovid, and confronting the Werewolf.
Walkthrough
- 1Return to Leuvaarden and ask what he learned. He will reveal the last Salamandra base is in the Merchant Quarter, beyond the supervised zone.
- 2Go to the Trade Quarter and talk to various "Guard Officers" (in plate armor).
- 3Give the correct Guard Officer the password: "The lily has yet to be engulfed by fire." He will respond with "Three lillies make one." If you approach the wrong officer, Geralt will comment.
- 4The correct officer will tell you to meet in the sewers at midnight.
- 5Enter the Sewers via the entrance in the Trade Quarter. Rest until midnight if necessary.
- 6The meeting point is on the opposite end of the tunnel from the Trade Quarter door.
- 7Approach the Guard Officer and his Guardsmen. They will set up a ladder and warn you about vigilant Salamanders.
- 8Head up the ladder to reach the area beyond the Supervised Zone.
- 9Head north to the Salamandra Hideout.
- 10Inside, observe the Salamanders attempting to use a scrying mirror to contact someone for funds. They are rejected due to their endeavors (Fisstech trade, mutation research).
- 11You will be overheard and must fight a trio of potent Salamandra Officers and a Salamandra Mage. Potions may be helpful.
- 12After defeating the Salamanders, go to "Hartmann’s Mirror" and talk to the projected figure, Radovid the Stern.
- 13Radovid will admit to contemplating using Salamandra as a political tool but has changed his mind. He will mention Adda, updating the quest "All the King’s Men".
- 14Grab the "Seeing Stone" nearby to update the quest "Lock and Key".
- 15Head into the cellar, slaughter low-quality Salamanders, loot, and leave the building.
- 16Outside, Geralt will see a group of Salamanders. He will dispatch one, but the others have been mauled by a Werewolf.
- 17The Werewolf spares a peasant and then engages Geralt.
- 18After a cutscene, the Werewolf reveals itself as Captain Vincent.
- 19You are presented with two choices: spare Vincent or kill him.
- 20If you spare Vincent: The quests "Identity", "Lock and Key", and "Beauty and the Beast" are updated. You receive 2500 XP.
- 21If you kill Vincent: The quests "Identity" and "Lock and Key" are updated. You fail the quest "Beauty and the Beast". You receive 1500 XP and Werewolf’s Fur, which can be used to create the potion "Werewolf’s Wrath". Drinking this potion grants the "Predator" talent.
- 22Regardless of your choice, you receive 1000 XP for taking a stance on monsters.
- 23Head into the Old Forge and check the cellar, which is Vincent the Werewolf's lair. Loot the single barrel.
- 24Head through the trap-door to the Sewers.
- 25Head to the Eager Thighs Brothel and talk to Carmen.
- 26When Geralt reveals he knows who the Werewolf is, Carmen will beg you not to kill him.
- 27You can learn Carmen’s real name (Hela) and tell her about the first potential cure for Vincent's lycanthropy.
- 28Geralt tells her to make a shirt made of Fool’s Parsley. If you have some, give it to her.
- 29Leave and return to ask Carmen how it went.
Tips
- Potions might be helpful when fighting the Salamandra Officers and Mage.
- Killing Vincent provides Werewolf's Fur, which can be used to craft the potion "Werewolf's Wrath" granting the "Predator" talent. However, this fails the "Beauty and the Beast" quest.
- Sparing Vincent provides more XP and keeps the "Beauty and the Beast" quest intact.
- For giving the password to the correct Guard Officer: 500 XP
- For snatching the Seeing Stone: 500 XP
- For sparing Vincent: 2500 XP
- For killing Vincent: 1500 XP
- For taking a stance on monsters, and thus solidifying your identity: 1000 XP
