Master the Uniquely Disadvantaged Time Attack challenge in Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition! Learn strategies for each wave, from Cellular Bugworms to Avalanche Abaasy.
Alright, so you've decided to tackle the Uniquely Disadvantaged challenge in Xenoblade Chronicles: Definitive Edition's Time Attack mode. This one's a real test, rated 4/4 difficulty, and it's going to push your skills to the limit. The reward for your perseverance? The powerful Frontier Set. Let's break down how to get through this beast.
Wave 1
For this first wave, Fiora is your leader, so keeping her in High Tension is key to maximizing her Arts. You'll be facing a Lv 97 Cellular Bugworm, a Lv 98 Shimmering Forte, and a Lv 99 Conflagarant Raxeal. Your main target here should be the Caterpile. Your goal is to build up your Party Gauge to full and get Fiora into High Tension, but don't unleash those powerful abilities just yet. Stick to her basic Arts to take down this initial group.
Wave 2
Next up, you'll face a Lv 100 Gonzalez and a Lv 105 Territorial Rotbart. Start by focusing all your attention on Gonzalez. Use Chain Attacks to keep him Toppled, because his Spike Aura can be absolutely deadly if you let him attack freely. Ideally, this will either defeat Gonzalez or bring him very close to death. Once he's dealt with, switch your focus to Rotbart. You might need another Chain Attack right at the start of this wave, but after that, try to conserve your Party Gauge for the final phase. As long as you take care of Gonzalez early on, this wave should be manageable.
Wave 3
This final wave is where things get really intense. You're up against a Lv 114 Blizzard Belgazas and the game's ultimate superboss, a Lv 120 Avalanche Abaasy. While Abaasy isn't quite as formidable as he is outside of Time Attack, the massive level difference is still a huge hurdle. Again, start by buffing Fiora's stats and immediately launch into a Chain Attack to deal as much damage to Belgazas as possible. Crucially, do NOT use Topple on Belgazas – doing so will trigger its Down Spike, which is an instant kill. Once it's just you and Abaasy, you'll have to hope he doesn't spam his Talent Art too often, as it will almost certainly wipe your party. Save your Chain Attack gauge for Revives if Abaasy uses his powerful move. Your best bet here is to rely on Chain Attacks and Fiora's Speed Shifted Auto-attacks. This is an incredibly tough challenge, so don't get discouraged if you fail a few times. Keep at it!
