Using Runes to Craft Legendary Gems

Jewelers offer services to craft Legendary Gems. Players can use specific recipes for 1-Star and 2-Star Legendary Gems, or choose from three different recipes for crafting random Legendary Gems. These random recipes include options for a guaranteed 1-Star Legendary Gem, a guaranteed 2-Star Legendary Gem, and one that can produce a Legendary Gem of 1, 2, or 5-Star quality.

Crafting specific 1-Star and 2-Star Legendary Gems requires ATI runes. The randomized Legendary Gem recipes, on the other hand, require FA runes.

How to Find Runes in Diablo Immortal?

Runes can be obtained by clearing Elder Rifts. Empowering Elder Rifts with Legendary Crests or Rare Crests guarantees Rune drops, with more Runes appearing as more Crests are used. While Elder Rifts yield component runes, ATI and FA runes are more reliably acquired through trading at the Fading Essence and Runes Merchant.

How to Obtain ATI Runes at the Fading Essence and Runes Merchant

ATI runes, along with FA runes, are crucial. Other runes serve as secondary crafting components or bulk resources for trading into ATI runes. At the Fading Essence and Runes Merchant:

• Magic Runes Trade: Trade a dozen magic-grade runes (e.g., WEH, NIE, PYR, LUX, ORD, SYL, BOL, ENT, DRO, VOX, RAE, TYR, AUD) for one ATI rune. Any combination of a dozen magic runes will suffice.
• Rare Runes Trade: Trade three rare-grade runes (e.g., NOU, IMM, CIR, LAZ, ZUH, PHY) for one ATI rune. Any combination of three rare runes will suffice.

How to Obtain FA Runes at the Fading Essence and Runes Merchant

FA runes are used at the Jeweler for three random Legendary Gem recipes: one guaranteeing a 1-Star Gem (7x FA runes), one guaranteeing a 2-Star Gem (28x FA runes), and one for a 1, 2, or 5-Star Gem (22x FA runes). This is a slow but free method to obtain Legendary Gems. For example, approximately 40 Crestless Elder Rift runs (about 1.5 to 2 hours of gameplay) are needed to afford one roll at the 1, 2, or 5-Star random Legendary Gem recipe.
