Learn how to find and defeat Treasure Goblins in Diablo Immortal. Discover strategies to chase them down and claim their valuable loot before they escape through portals.
As you explore Sanctuary, you may stumble across a diminutive, cowardly, impish biped with a bag of loot slung over its shoulder: a Treasure Goblin. Like Global Events, Treasure Goblins will spawn randomly throughout the world. You won’t get any indication that the Treasure Goblin is around until it spots you and flees, leaving a trail of gold behind as it seeks to put distance between itself and any dangerous would-be heroes.
Treasure Goblins are wise to be wary, as the loot bags they carry around are full of treasure, and smacking a Treasure Goblin around will cause it to drop some of this loot. If you manage to defeat the Treasure Goblin before it can flee through an extradimensional portal you’ll be able to gorge yourself on the entirety of the Treasure Goblin’s stash. The prospect of bullying Treasure Goblins for loot makes them lucrative targets, indeed.
Treasure Goblins will flee at your approach, dribbling a trail of gold behind them as they flee. Once they’ve fled a certain distance, they’ll stop and work on conjuring a magical portal that’ll whisk them to safety, depriving you of any loot they may be carrying. Your goal, then, is to chase down Treasure Goblins and keep pressuring them, causing them to abandon their efforts at creating a portal. Repeat the process until the Treasure Goblin is defeated and you’ll be rewarded with a shower of loot.
This sounds simple enough, but Treasure Goblins are quick and can withstand significant damage before being dissuaded from trying to summon their escape portals. Worse still, they’re encountered out in the wilderness along with other monsters, who will do their best to get in your way while you try to hunt down fleeing Treasure Goblins. Having a mobility skill to bypass the hordes of nuisance monsters and AoE skills to thin the herd will make your life much easier.
