What Does Potency Do In Diablo Immortal?

Learn what Potency does in diablo immortal: it increases the duration of your control effects on enemies. Increase it via Willpower, Normal Gems like Citrines, and the Legacy of the Horadrim.

Your Potency score is a relative value compared to the average Resistance score of enemies at your level. The higher your Potency is relative to an enemy’s Resistance, the longer your control effects will persist.

How to Increase Your Potency Attribute

Potency is a secondary attribute in diablo immortal. It is derived from numerous sources, including your Willpower attribute, equipped Normal Gems, and by upgrading the Legacy of the Horadrim.

Willpower

Most gear generally provides flat bonuses to Damage or Life, alongside a Magic Property and potentially a Legendary Property. Additionally, equipment grants Attribute bonuses, with rarer, higher-level equipment offering higher bonuses. Any piece of gear, provided it is at least of Rare quality, should have bonuses to two different Attributes. The specific attributes and their values are random. Your Resonance score modifies the Base Attribute bonuses your equipped gear grants you; a higher Resonance score yields a higher percentage bonus to your Attribute scores. Since many derived stats like Potency, Potency Penetration, Combat Rating, Damage, Life, Potency, and Resistance are directly influenced by your Attributes, your Resonance score is immensely important for overall combat effectiveness. Resonance is primarily gained by equipping Legendary Gems; the rarer the Legendary Gem and the more it has been upgraded, the higher the Resonance bonus, thus boosting your Attributes more.

Citrines

Socketing Citrines (Normal Gems, requiring secondary gear with yellow gem sockets) will increase your Potency attribute. Upgrading Normal Gems to higher ranks substantially increases their effects.

Legacy of the Horadrim

Installing Vessels into the Legacy of the Horadrim provides passive bonuses to various stats. The Zoltan Kulle’s Ingenuity and Jered Cain’s Vision Vessels specifically increase Potency. Upgrading installed Vessels increases the stat bonuses they provide.
