Struggling with the Imps in Disgaea: Hour of Darkness? This guide breaks down the frustrating Lv. 12 Imp battle, including Geo Symbol strategies and enemy weaknesses.

Alright, so you've hit the 'Enemies: (21)' part of the game, and honestly, this one's a real pain. We're talking about a battle with nine Lv. 12 Imps, and it's easily the toughest fight in this chapter. Let's break down why it's so frustrating and how to get through it.

First off, the map layout is brutal. You're dropped into a yellow Geo Symbol field that messes with you in three ways: Ally Damage +20%, Atk -50%, and Def +50%. Your absolute first priority is to destroy that Ally Damage +20% symbol. It's located to the north of your starting position, and guess what? It's guarded by three of those nine Imps. Yeah, they're as annoying as they sound.

So, your immediate goal is to punch through those Imps and get to that Geo Symbol ASAP. Laharl is your best bet for this, especially if you can position him for some long-range support. If you've got a Scout with a Dark Cannon ready to go, that's a fantastic setup for taking out the symbol quickly.

Even after you get rid of the Geo Symbol, your attacks are still only doing half damage because of the other effects lingering. The Imps themselves aren't helping, either. They use 'Hell Pepper,' which inflicts Poison. Flonne's 'Power of Love' is still super useful here, so don't hesitate to use it. However, if you want to keep your sanity, destroying at least one of the Geo Symbols is key. Once that's done, the rest of the battle should become much more manageable.

The Imps tend to cluster together, so if you can position yourself to hit multiple of them at once, you'll make quick work of them. Once you're used to their patterns, they shouldn't be able to overwhelm you. This is the most annoying battle in the chapter, and believe it or not, the next one is the second most annoying. Get ready!
