This section details the enemies encountered in Map 8-4 of Disgaea: Hour of Darkness. The enemies present are:

• Lv. 33 Chernobog x1
• Lv. 30 Shade x2
• Lv. 27 Nightmare x6

Map 8-4 is considered a straightforward battle in Chapter 8. Upon entering, you will be confronted by six Nightmares, known for their annoying long-range attacks. It is advised not to align your party in a formation when exiting the base panel, as this makes them vulnerable to the Nightmares' attacks. The Nightmares themselves are relatively weak and can only engage you in small numbers at a time. In contrast, the Shades and Chernobog have more HP and require more hits to defeat, although their attack power is not significantly higher. This battle also serves as an opportunity to level up Laharl's swords to Lv. 10 before Chapter 9.

Following this battle is a significant story scene where the Prinnies depart, revealing the identity of the big sis prinny, which is intended to be a surprise. This event marks a turning point for Laharl, making him a less antagonistic character. The chapter concludes with the Prinnies singing the Red Moon song. Chapter 9 begins with the introduction of Gordon, Jennifer, and the robot Thursday in space.

The chapter following this battle, Chapter 9, is titled 'Captain Gordon, Defender of Earth'. It is suggested to promote your brawler and warrior characters to Black Belt and Champion classes, respectively, if you use them. If not yet at this point, this chapter and Map 7-1 can be used for training. Before proceeding to Map 9-1, it is recommended to read Etna's diary and update your equipment.
