Alright, let's talk about skills in Disgaea! These are super important because they can totally turn the tide of a battle, even though they usually chew up a good chunk of your SP. You'll unlock them as your characters level up, and each one has its own unique effect, damage, and range. Think of them as your special moves!

Here's a rundown of the skills you'll be learning:

• Lv. 1 - Triple Strike: This is your first special move. It hits an enemy three times, with each hit being about half the power of a regular attack. Plus, it'll push the enemy one square forward. Handy for controlling enemy positions early on!
• Lv. 3 - Tiger Charge: This one hits an enemy directly in front of you and pushes them forward. It's got some serious power, but you'll need a few squares of space to line it up properly.
• Lv. 6 - Lion's Roar: Ready to clear out some space? Lion's Roar hits all enemies in a horizontal, vertical, or diagonal line from your character. It's a bit stronger than your basic attack, making it great for dealing with groups.
• Lv. 10 - King of Beasts: This skill is all about single-target damage. It hits one enemy for way more power than a normal attack, but be warned: it pushes the enemy two spaces ahead!
• Lv. 15 - Rising Dragon: This one's got a really cool animation! It's stronger than King of Beasts and hits a single enemy, but instead of pushing them forward, it pushes them *behind* you. Useful for repositioning tough enemies.
• Lv. 20 - Big Bang: Another awesome-looking skill! Big Bang hits enemies in a 3x3 area about three panels ahead of you. Its power is comparable to Tiger Charge, and it's just plain cool to use.

Now, about swords! They're pretty iconic in RPGs, and Disgaea is no different. Laharl, our main guy, is a total beast with them. Other characters like Fighters and Ninjas also rock swords. They give you that strong, close-range punch you need. While the skills we just went over are learned by leveling up, swords also have their own special attacks you can unlock, like Blade Rush and Wind Cutter for long-range, Hurricane Slash and Dark X Slash for single targets, and the fan-favorite Winged Slayer that hits a huge area in front of you.
