Master the final battle of Chapter 5 in Disgaea: Hour of Darkness! Learn enemy placements, boss weaknesses, and strategies to overcome Maderas and his minions.

Alright, so we're hitting the last battle of Chapter 5 in Disgaea: Hour of Darkness. Honestly, it's a bit of a breather after some of the tougher fights, even though it's called the 'most epic battle yet.' You've got a Demon Sire (Maderas) as the boss, a Golem, a couple of Lilims, and some Empusas. Don't let the names fool you; Maderas is a total pushover compared to some of the other bosses you've faced.

The battlefield splits into three paths at the start: one on each side and one in the middle. The two Lilim are chilling in the middle, and the four Empusas are spread out. My go-to strategy here is to send Laharl and Etna after the side Lilim while the rest of your crew handles the middle ones. They go down super fast, usually in just a couple of hits. The real threat, if you can even call it that, is the Golem. You'll want to hit it with long-range attacks like Wind Cutter and Prinny Raid as soon as you can. Seriously, avoid its Golem Dunk attack if you know what's good for you – it's nasty!

The two Lilim will eventually make their way towards you after the Empusas are dealt with, but by then, they shouldn't be much of a threat. Maderas usually comes down from one of the sides, so he won't be able to do much damage to you right away. Keep peppering the Golem with those long-range attacks, and once it's weakened, switch to short-range stuff when it gets close. Once the Golem is down, the fight is pretty much won.

Maderas himself only has about 650 HP, which is less than the Mid-Boss from earlier. His special attack, Chaos Fire, is hilariously weak, and he's a bit of a coward, often just running away instead of fighting. His defense isn't anything special either; attacks like Hurricane Slash and Sky Lunge will make short work of him. Honestly, this is a pretty enjoyable battle to wrap up Chapter 5. It leads nicely into Chapter 6, with a happy ending for Laharl and Etna... well, everyone except Mid-Boss, anyway.
