Walkthrough
- 1Crazy Cart:
- Ground-pound in front of the initial structure for a puzzle piece.
- 2Continue right to a checkpoint.
- 3In the next barrel cannon segment, aim carefully to collect the 'N'.
- 4After the 'N', blast diagonally between barrels. Aim for the single banana on the upward-pointing barrel to find a puzzle piece.
- 5Fire into the background to reveal the 'G'. Miss the next blast barrel intentionally to collect it.
- 6In the next area, be quick as stone idols in the background will crush your barrel cannon. Time the last two barrels carefully.
- 7Fire into the barrel cannon emerging from a stone idol's mouth. Ensure the barrel is exposed to avoid restarting from the checkpoint.
- 8Puzzle Piece 1: Visible in the level intro; jump left to grab it.
- 9Puzzle Piece 2: Ground-pound the DK platform to open a path to the mines. Jump left instead to reveal a bonus area. Collect all items and banana coins within the time limit for a puzzle piece.
- 10Enter the mines and ground-pound the wooden platform to proceed. This is a point of no return.
- 11KONG Letter K: Ahead, jump off the third mole miner to grab the 'K' overhead.
- 12Puzzle Piece 3: After two tiki buzzes, jump OVER the next mole miner to land on the bottom track and get a puzzle piece.
- 13KONG Letter O: Immediately after, get on the top track. Jump over a dip in the track to get the 'O'.
- 14Puzzle Piece 4: Ahead, jump slightly early for a gap in the track to snag a puzzle piece.
- 15Puzzle Piece 5: A trail of bananas leads to a floating banana bunch. About 1 second later, a puzzle piece appears; grab it quickly.
- 16Checkpoint reached. All puzzle pieces should be collected by now.
- 17Take the top track for a life balloon. Avoid a full jump off the next tiki buzz to prevent crashing into a wall.
- 18KONG Letter N: After the ceiling disappears, jump to a higher track at the last possible moment to get the 'N'.
- 19On the second set of flaming tiki buzzes, go under the first two and over the third.
- 20KONG Letter G: After jumping off some tiki buzzes, grab the 'G' at the bottom of the screen by jumping as late as possible.
- 21The track breaks up; at the end, you'll reach the exit barrel.
- 22Mugly's Mound:
- Grab the DK barrel if needed before entering Mugly's arena.
- 23Mugly's attacks: Charges across the arena (signals by chomping) or jumps across (signals by looking up).
- 24To damage Mugly, jump on the target on his back. It's protected by spikes when he's not attacking.
- 25If he charges, jump over him and land on the target. If he jumps, run under him and then jump on the target.
- 26After three hits, Mugly turns orange and faster. Use the same strategy.
- 27After three more hits, Mugly turns red and extremely fast. He adds a new attack: slamming the ground to create a shockwave.
- 28To avoid the shockwave, run under him when he jumps, then jump over the shockwave onto his target.
- 29Three more hits will cause the tiki to pop out. Get close and shake the controller when prompted to finish the fight.
- 30Platform Panic:
- Requirement: Obtain a star medal on every other stage by collecting KONG letters to enter this level.
- 31This level does not contain KONG letters but has puzzle pieces and is very difficult.
- 32Start by moving right. Platforms appear and disappear shortly after stepping on them, requiring constant movement. Take your time to avoid falling.
- 33Puzzle Piece 1: In the first section, jump off the head of the second tiki doom to the right to find a puzzle piece above a group of tiki buzzes.
