    Tumblin' Temple: Grab the DK barrel, rush to the platform with three skeleton enemies. A slab will drop; jump to the second platform and roll-jump over bats and tikis to the next platform. Jump off the slab, wait for another, bounce off bats to avoid a spiked slab, and continue past the climbable ceiling. If Diddy is present, use him. Climb the appearing slabs, roll off the breaking climbable surface to the exit barrel. This fast path is necessary for a gold medal.

    Wonky Waterway: Grab the DK barrel, head to the DK platform. Roll past screaming pillars to a vine above a fire tiki; pull it to open a platform and reach the checkpoint. Grab another DK barrel if needed, continue to the next vine. Ignore spike traps as getting hit is faster than avoiding them. At the next checkpoint, grab a DK barrel, pull the vine, and roll to a tiki under screaming pillars. Wait for them, then roll down the ramp and up the other side to the exit barrel.

    Button Bash: Grab the DK barrel and use barrel cannons. Inside, hit the button and jump over the tiki. Defeat the humzees quickly by rolling. Aim for all three gem lines on the first shot, then fire into the center. Hit the ground within 52 seconds for gold (41 for shiny). Use lights near barrel cannons to aim (red light indicates direction). After the checkpoint, climb and hit four buttons. In the next blast barrel section, go clockwise to hit a button, then counter-clockwise to the checkpoint. Quickly roll through four chikens, ground-pound the button, and climb appearing platforms. Blast into the idol's three mouths: fire immediately for the first, lead the second by 1/10 rotation, and the third by 1/5 rotation.

    Mast Blast: Grab the DK barrel and use the barrel cannon to start.
Tips
  • Crab Enemies: When facing crabs as a team, stay left. They walk right before putting pincers up, allowing a roll attack from the other side. Listen to the music; they put pincers up at the same musical cue.
  • Tiki Enemies: After the crab cutscene, hit tikis quickly.
  • Diddy Kong: Diddy is helpful in Tumblin' Temple, especially for climbing sections.
  • Spike Traps: In Wonky Waterway, it's faster to get hit by spike traps than to avoid them.
  • Humzees: In Button Bash, roll to defeat humzees quickly.
  • Barrel Cannons: Use the red lights near barrel cannons to determine their aim.
