Alright, let's tackle the 'Bait and Switch' optional quest in Dragon Age II. This one's important because it's how you'll meet Fenris, a pretty cool companion you'll want in your party.

First things first, you'll need to leave Gamlen's House and head into Lowtown. It's nighttime, so keep an eye out. Your goal is to find someone called Anso, the Contact, who hangs out in the Lowtown Bazaar. Chat with him and agree to help him out. He'll send you to an Abandoned House located in the Elven Alienage.

As soon as you step inside the Abandoned House, watch out! There's a standard trap waiting for you on the right. Be careful not to step on it. Once you've dodged that, check out the eastern door. You'll find a crate there, so loot it if you want. Then, head through the southern door.

Inside, you'll run into some Street Thugs. Take them down, and then check the chest in the room. Sadly, it's empty. As you're leaving the house, get ready for a surprise! A group of Tevinter Hunters are waiting to ambush you. You'll have to fight them off.

After that scuffle, you'll meet Fenris. He's got some business in Danarius's Manor and could use your help. Agree to join forces with him, and then it's off to Hightown. If you haven't explored Hightown at night before, there's a crate you can find in the Red Lantern District. Fenris will be waiting for you in the Noble Estates, just past the Chantry.

Once you've had your chat with Fenris, he'll join your party. Make sure you take a moment to set up his abilities before you head into Danarius's Manor. As you approach the door to the manor, disarm the simple trap. Then, brace yourself, because you'll be fighting off some Shades.

Moving further north into the manor, you'll enter a larger room. Be really careful here, as there are a bunch of standard traps scattered across the floor. Your best bet is to try and lure the Shades into the previous room where you fought them. It's a much safer spot for a fight. Among the enemies, a Rage Demon will likely show up, so make it a priority to take it down, but don't worry, you've got this!
