Alright, let's talk about some optional quests that pop up in Act II, specifically the ones where you check in on your buddies. These are great for boosting your Friendship or Rivalry with them, so don't skip 'em if you want to get closer to your crew!

Consoling Words

First up, you'll want to head over to Merrill's place in the Elven Alienage, located in Lowtown. Just outside her house, you'll spot a crate. Give it a quick look-over, then chat with Merrill. Doing this wraps up the quest.

Plans for the Future

Next, make your way to The Hanged Man. In the back area, you'll find three crates and a chest - complex. If you helped out Martin earlier, his shop should be open now. After you've rummaged through the containers, find Varric in his room and have a word with him. That'll finish this part.

Isabela’s Ongoing Search

Isabela is hanging out downstairs from Varric. This is a good chance to really influence your Friendship or Rivalry with her, depending on what you say. No matter how the conversation goes, the quest will complete once you've spoken with her.

Visit Anders

Finally, head to Anders' Clinic in Darktown. Go in and have a chat with him. Once your conversation is done, so is this quest.
