Your step-by-step guide to navigating Dragon Quest VIII's Waterfall Cave, including enemy encounters, treasure locations, and boss strategies for Geyzer.

Hey there! Ready to dive into the Waterfall Cave? It's located just south of Farebury, along the southern road. Don't worry, King Trode will pop in for a quick chat when you first approach it, then you can head right in.

This place is pretty straightforward, honestly. Just follow the main path until you hit your first fork. To your right, you'll find a chest with 1,000G. Grab that, then take the right path into a bigger room. Stick close to the right wall, and you'll eventually find a chest with a Chimaera Wing. Keep following that wall, and you'll discover two more chests holding a Medicinal Herb and a Leather Hat. After that, just keep going until you reach another intersection. Take the path heading north and follow the tunnel down to the next level.

Once you're on Level 2, it's another linear path until you reach a large open room. Head into the next tunnel, and you'll be stopped by a Hammerhood. Just chat with the monster and say Yes when it asks if you want to fight.

Heads up: You can actually fight this Hammerhood if you want to. It might be a bit tough depending on your current level, but it's definitely doable!

After that, continue down the path to the next intersection. Take the left path, and it'll lead you into a room where you'll find a chest with a Copper Sword. That's all the treasure in this dungeon, so head back to that intersection and take the other path this time.

The next floor is another simple, straight shot. Just follow it to the end, and you'll find the Crystal Ball. Interacting with it will trigger a scene and then, surprise, a boss battle!

Geyzer's Attacks:

• Attack: Deals 10-22 damage to a single target.
• Sizz: Fire magic that hits all allies for 7-12 damage.
• Cursed Mist: Has a chance to Curse your party members, potentially making them skip turns.

Strategy:

• Since Geyzer can use Cursed Mist, which might make Yangus lose turns, it's probably best to avoid using Psyche Up.
• Make sure both your Hero and Yangus have a couple of Medicinal Herbs on hand.
• The Hero should be your main healer. Keep an eye on everyone's health and heal them if they drop below 22 health. Otherwise, just keep attacking!
• Yangus should focus on attacking Geyzer. If you need to heal, have him use a Medicinal Herb.

After you defeat Geyzer, you'll get the Crystal Ball back. Great job! Now you can head back to Farebury.
