Crucible Needed For a Smelter Guide

Find the Mark of Sameth Mine: The mine is located west of the Ancient Spire in Revelwood, and a bit northwest of Diadwyn village. The easiest way to get there is to fast travel to the Ancient Spire and then glide west. You won't make it all the way, so you'll need to keep jumping off high ground while gliding west to cover the distance. If you've already found Diadwyn village (it's southwest of the spire), you can take the dusty path leading west from the village exit. This path will eventually turn northwest, and you'll cross a stone path, but stick to the dusty one – it leads right to the mine entrance.

Navigate the Mine and Find the Crucible: Once you reach the Mark of Sameth, be ready for a fight. This place is crawling with Scavengers, and they'll attack from all sides, even from above. Having a ranged weapon like a Bow or Wand is super helpful here so you can pick them off from a distance. Keep an eye out for explosive barrels you can shoot to take out groups of enemies. This mine is also a great spot for Copper Ore, so remember that for later! It's easy to get turned around in here with all the tunnels, so your main goal is to find the Crucible. From the entrance, head along the bottom and look for the tunnel at the very back, in the northwest, near a slope. Watch out for a trap right at the entrance, clear out any enemies, and then head up the slope to the west/southwest (that's to your left). At the top, you'll find a lore note, and the Crucible is just behind a boulder to your right. You can destroy the boulder by throwing a bomb at it, mining it with your pickaxe, or by jumping over it. The Crucible will be sitting on a table; interact with it by pressing [E] (or your default interact key) to update your quest.

Craft the Smelter: After you've got the Crucible, fast travel back to your base. Go to your Blacksmith NPC – you'll see an exclamation mark above their head. Talk to them and select the option like “Time to Craft a Smelter.” After a bit of dialogue, choose to Craft. You'll find the Smelter under the 'Production Place' category, right above the Charcoal Kiln.

Gather Materials for Fired Bricks: To craft the Smelter, you'll need 50 Fired Bricks in addition to the Crucible. Each Fired Brick requires 1 Clay and 1 Wooden Log. So, for 50 bricks, you'll need 50 Clay and 50 Wooden Logs. Wood Logs are easy to come by, but you'll need to mine Clay from deposits found around Revelwood. Good spots for Clay are west of Diadwyn, south of the Mark of Sameth, and near the strip of land west of the Hunting Ground (southeast of the fast travel).

Craft Fired Bricks and the Smelter: Once you have your 50 Clay and 50 Wooden Logs, head to your Kiln. Place the materials inside and start crafting. While you wait for the bricks to cook, you could always mine some Copper Ore nearby. Once the Fired Bricks are ready, craft the Smelter and place it in your base. Quest complete!
