Spells in Enshrouded offer unique long-range casts, buffs, and heals. Unlike traditional magic systems, players don't start with known spells. Instead, spells are crafted by the Alchemist or found in chests at Points of Interest (POIs) after reaching level 3. Spells require a staff to cast, which can also be found or crafted. Basic spells like Fire Bolt, Ice Bolt, and Channel Heal begin dropping from chests around level 3. It's advised to wait until level 3 to craft a basic staff, as it's otherwise useless.
Spells have several key stats: Spell Ammo Count (how many times a spell can be cast before running out), Mana Cost (the amount of mana required per cast), Charge Time (how long to hold the attack button), Damage (base damage before multipliers and resistances), and Level Requirement (the level at which the spell starts appearing).
Eternal Spells are special spells that do not deplete their ammo count, offering permanent casting. These can be found as loot or crafted from the Alchemist. They retain their damage, cast time, and mana cost.
Mana is the resource for spellcasting, replenishing over time based on your Spirit attribute. Mana can also be restored using Mana Potions (found or crafted) or through specific wand perks that leech mana. Increasing your base mana pool can be achieved through armor and rings that provide mana upgrades.
